Course is in great shape
Course saw an inch and a half of rain the night before, so things were soggy, but we walked 18 without issue. Greens and fairways were in wonderful shape, and the course played long due to the wet conditions. Pace of play was absolutely fantastic due to light play that day (Easter). Rangers were seen keeping an eye on things 3 times during the round which was refreshing, and the staff was friendly and courteous. Will be back again for more rounds this summer,

Nice course was early and grounds we wet cart path only but still a great round will be back later this summer.

Challenging Course with Excellent Greens!
Played on the best weather day in March! (75 degrees) It's a great neighborhood course with a great layout and normally fast greens (it's early in the season) but slower until the grass gets thicker growth. Much better course than area courses like Highland Woods or the Bridges of Poplar Creek. We'll be back again as the weather improves and look forward the sandwiches being BBQ'd on the 10th tee.
Being the early Spring, this course was very playable.

Hilldale Turtle race
OMG, it was a beautiful day course was in great shape, staff was great, but one of the worst rounds I've ever played. The pace of play was so bad our foursome quit after 12 holes, its crazy to wait up to 10 minutes to hit. There were rangers but apparently unable to speed up play when you way overbook like it was that day

Nice people
The people are really nice and being a female golfer that means a lot. It was a lovely day but it's March and things were wet so I can't say much about the condition of the course. I'm sure it's nice in the summer. Thanks for the day!!!

Hilldale
Course in good shape but greens much slower than usual - had to drive back to the bar and wait to get a Coke after the front nine. Well designed course, but like many suburban courses, too many houses, but we deal with that often. Nice to see a guy on the leaf blowing machine doing his job (as opposed to St. Andrews Joe Jemsek course where you spend an inordinate amount of time looking for your ball with a forest of leaves all over the place) - all in all, always in good shape and a good challenge, even to the advanced golfer.

Best course value in Chicagoland area
Great layout. Best greens. Best value. Staff has a not so friendly attitude. Seem like city workers. If you can look past the indifference of the staff you will really enjoy the golf

Great course
Challenging but fair. Large greens, most fairways allow for a mis hit every now and then. Best hot dog in the area when the grill guy is cooking at 10th hole. Par 5 holes #2 and #11 are tough. Great value with the specials and groupons they run.

Fun well maintained RTJ track
Played on a nice summer afternoon. Played as a single and got paired up with another gentleman who was familiar with the course and offered help on where to hit it ( and more importantly where not to hit it, as there are some water hazards that are not visible on some shots on the course). Overall course was in decent shape, would have been nicer if the folks in front of us repaired their pitch marks and replaced their divots.

The Greens are Awesome!
I have heard people mention over the years how great the greens are at Hilldale and I always thought I would have to see for myself one day. Well am I glad I did. They were without a doubt the smoothest, best conditioned greens I have played this year, public or private. The course itself is a good, challenging layout that requires some thought and quite a few shots to be played but our foursome will be back because of the conditions of the greens.

Carts are the reason for slow play.
Great course for a $10 GN special. Lots of great holes, including a couple of tricky ones.
Noon on a weekday, the course was not busy.
Driving range was decent, (although a couple more yardage flags would be nice,) and the practice green was in great shape. Didn't check out the restaurant.
Some tee boxes were too hard to put a tee into. Moving a foot or so the tees went in easily.
Slow play only because the carts are SLOW. The slowest carts I've ever played. The course needs to open them up and the rounds will be much faster.

I like the amount of doglegs with water , and tree lines a pretty
People who are in foursomes that are playing for money, and it's important money should allow groups which are playing to enjoy experience and not be on every hole watching them high five and not get off greens and waste time in fairways. There are marshals and five hours too finish play is too long
