Smoke Rise Country Club

Several holes have blind shots. The course is hilly and tight.

There was hardly anyone on the course so I was able to finish my round in about 3 hours. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were decent and drained ok from recent rains. Bunkers need to be cared for. Staff very friendly and laid back. This is a challenging course to play and I'd play again here no problem.

It was great; the course, the weather, and no lost ball.

There were many leaves on the fairways, but we didn't lose through little time needed to find them.

Good course and had some challenges but not too difficult. Very peaceful day.

Haven't played here in years, has changed significantly. Nice layout which requires lots of thought on Club selection. Very hilly,plenty of sand traps, and I would think fairly difficult for most average golfers. Not an easy course by any means. Enjoyed playing.

The high was 59 degrees and it rained the day before, but surprisingly the course wasn't muddy really. Finished the round in 3.5 hours. Been here plenty of times and it's fun every time.

Enjoyed my round here today. Start was great and on time. Course was in good shape and each hole had its challenges. 2nd time playing here and enjoyed it both times.

First time playing at this course in almost 2 years. As a former Canongate employee, I tried to play Smokerise at least once a month. The layout makes you think and the greens were always worth the hour drive.

Saturday was a joke. We waited almost 5 minutes for a cart to be brought out. Our tee time was 10:00 a.m. and we didn’t tee off until almost 10:20. We were waiting minutes on each shot and even longer on the par 3s. We didn’t see an on course ranger at all. There’s absolutely no reason why they should’ve been that far behind that early in the morning and they were unwilling to make groups speed up.

On top of a 5.5 hour round, tee box markers hadn’t been moved, were only 3-4 paces part, and most weren’t even aimed towards the fairway or green. There was standing water in most of the bunkers, (despite not having rained in 2-3 days), and maybe a handful had been raked.

The clubhouse still hasn’t been repaired from a leak a couple of years ago and there’s almost nothing in the golf shop as far as golf balls or equipment.

This course used to be a lot of fun to play, and you could play a round and not see another group. Now, it’s not worth the drive or the money.

I arrived at the course and only 4 cars in parking lot. I showed up and only one other group on course. It was great. Cart path only due to Hurricane MIchael, but enjoyed the day.

This is a shot makers course with several par 5's reachable in two. Accuracy, accuracy is the key. Would love to play it again with dry conditions. Great layout and the one staff guy was great.

This is a tight course Makes you play smart golf. Great conditions.

All in all a good course. ALL the bunkers were hard pan. Hasn’t been any sand in them for a while. Not what I was expecting. Nice fairways. To get that championship Bermuda where it putts like bent grass takes a lot attention and knowledge. They were inconsistent. Some much faster than others. They look beautiful but hard for a scratch golfer to shoot a low score. When we finally found the bar for a drink at the turn, at first those folks seemed bothered by our presence then responded well. They only had a couple of Gatorades they said their truck hadn’t run. It looks like it was a jam up place back in the day...

After three frustrating years of trying to master this challenging course, I finally broke 90 today for the first time. The course is in good condition the greens are always true and it's a excellent test of golfing skills.
