Smoke Rise Country Club

What was once a beautiful, but challenging course is falling apart. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in bad shape. With the difficulty of the course slope the fairways need to be watered. It was a desert. Hitting a drive in the fairway was ending up on the cart path or in the woods. The greens were insanely fast. I would assume from lack of water. The price under $30 was great, but it's not really a playable golf course.

What a fun and challenging course. Staff was 1st class from check in to a warm up bucket to finish of the round. A shot makers course and the greens were very fast. Turns out they had just had a college tourney a week prior to our round. Loved the course and the treatment by the staff. Will play again when in the Atlanta area. Got a great deal on Golfnow hot deals.

The greens are fabulous; fast but true. However, getting to the greens is no easy task as the fairways seem to pull tee shots off the fairways that are too sloped..especially #6. The par threes are challenging enough to test any golfers short game. It would take a few rounds to learn this course well enough to place tee shots where they need to be in order to score well.

Leave your driver at home. Very tricky and some course knowledge is required to play well.

This was the second go round on Smokerise. The course was in great shape for the time of year. Greens were fabulous, clean and fast! Layout is challenging with elevation changes, blind shots, and other assorted obstacles. My one complaint was that the proshop did not start us on the back nine with a youth tournie going off the back which slowed us down at the end of our back nine. Otherwise everything was great.

Course is in great condition and greens are fast...almost too fast! Practice your putting and cut off 5 strokes.

Even though this course was still in it's dormant stage it played very well. I can't wait to play it again this spring or summer. The greens were fast and true.

I love the layout. A lot of blind shots and power chutes. It forces you to pick an aiming point and execute the shot. Greens were extremely fast. Some were optical illusions. I could not tell if they were uphill or downhill. Do not get above the hole. I usually walk but if I walked this course I would probably have a heart attack. The hills were very steep. Even though the greens were extremely fast they were in excellent shape. You could not find a ball mark. Even though we waited on pretty much every hole we still finished in 4:20. I definitely will play again.

This course is always in great shape and staff is always very friendly. Had to wait about 15 minutes past my tee time on a cart but I got my round in right under 3 hours so worked out fine. This is a semi private course and wasn't near packed on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I played front nine paired with a member and back nine by myself in about an hour. Teed off around 3:30 finished around 6:15. You definitely need to play this course a few times to know what you need to hit and you need to hit it accurately. Lots of opportunity to work the ball right to left and lots of elevation and undulating fairways. Greens in great shape and very fast. I would recommend playing here but it's tough the first couple times around until you get your bearing.

Started out with lite rain and overcast, but sun came out later, not a bad day for golf. Still winter season, but this course is in great shape, really look forward to playing here during the Spring and Summer. Checking in was easy and pleasant. Course was not overly crowded, and everyone keep moving. Played with a 4some in 4:15min.

The greens are a dream to putt on. Fast and true. The rest of the course is dormant, but playable. Traps are in great shape.

The course is very interesting. Many tight shots, but also forgiving in places.
