About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Great time
Had a foursome. We had a great day of golf. Course is incredible, and bar staff is friendly. Would like to see the bar serve food a little later.

This course just needs a little tlc. Lots of dead grass and the tee boxes were in rough shape. Tough course where you'd have to lay up but still a ton of fun

Worth the drive
Second time playing, great layout, but not optimal condition...patchy areas missing grass. Greens were a bit slow, lovely scenery. Pace of play on a Saturday was incredibly slow, rangers were nice, but did nothing to speed play. It took 6 hours to play.

Course conditions
Let me say that I’ve been playing this course for 12 or so years , back when it was around the lake. I was very disappointed in the condition Of the course. It has. Otho g to do with the rain and the fact of the fairways were very drenched. The tee boxes and greens are not in good condition at all. Good luck finding grass on most tee boxes, and several of the greens have bare, brown ground on the outer edges where the fringe or collar used to be. Unfortunately I won’t be playing here in the near future I refuse to drive 2 hours to see the course in this condition. Hopefully they will get it together and bring this course back up to where it used to be.
The fairways have not yet grown in. still paper thin in most places. Bunkers are in poor shape ... I only notice one that was raked recently. Most tee boxes are chewed up and it is difficult to locate a grassy spot from which to tee off. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pace of play was good 4h 15 more or less. No Beverage cart to speak of.
Average at best
Played on a busy Saturday. No beverage cart person in sight on a very hot and humid day. No mention of not having a cart person at check-in or by starter. Sand traps were basically concrete/clay. Very little to no soft sand in sight. Fairways were average at best. Not the best golf experience to say the least.

Coarse xondition
In many places off the fairway the growth is much to high. You can't find your ball two feet off the fairway.
Start trimming it down

Best Secret in Georgia
Absolutely love this course, and for the money you cannot top it. The greens were punched and sanded this time around, but that did not effect my rating. Some of the tee boxes and green surroundings needed some work. Loved seeing the cart girl this time, as many times as i've played here they've never been out. Now, if you can only take a card or run a tab with one. The course is challenging but makes you think instead of just bombing it. Will definitely be back
Great all around!
The lady who checked me in was super nice from the beginning, can’t beat the service either! Great staff who was attentive and quick with answers. Very awesome how they met me at my truck with the cart after dropping off bags. Course was challenging but very good! Greens were a tad tricky due to aeration but none the less this course was one of the best. This is the course the Hampton strives to be.
