About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Trash pace of play
I have never played this course where they didn’t stack the tee times on top of each other. Took 6 hours to get through my round! Absolutely insane. The starter was a clown and rushing people through the first tee box, which led to having to wait for it to clear before every shot going forward. The course itself is challenging and has a great layout. Greens were fast, but in good condition. With the pace of paying being at a snails pace I won’t be back for a while.

Challenging Course
This course is challenging. Usually hitting over gulley's or water. The greens are in excellent condition and are very fast.
Beautiful montain scenery and nature. Saw a family of deer. The deer seem to be accustomed to human presence

This course is always a gem. The people from the starter to the club house staff, everyone is super nice and helpful. Course it’s set has its challenges from the blue tees. A lot of elevation changes throughout the course. Greens are in good shape and rolled very true today. Can’t wait for it to get greener towards the summer time!

Early season mountain golf
We took our neighbors we are traveling with out to play Lake Arrowhead. Probably a little early in the season for mountain golf. The course was a little rough around the edges but all in all was good to play. The area and course are amazing and we will certainly try to get back to play in the summer or fall.

A lot of fun but a tough course.
Got a solo tee time for 18 in the morning. Course was in great shape for all the rain we’ve had recently. Pro shop and starters were very friendly.
Greens were fast and true. Ended up meeting another solo and we decided to play 18 more! Had a great day and will definitely be back.

Great Views
The course itself was pretty amazing, Greens and fairways were well maintained, no complaints regarding the course. The pace of play however was ridiculous. It took us 3 hours to play the front 9. The group in front of us was a foursome and one of them brought his kid who was running all over the course. Each of them took forever to hit their shots and by the time we got to hole 4 we had two other teams behind us in the tee box waiting on these guys. When we got to hole 8 we called the club house to order food for the turn and that was also a disaster. When we entered the club house they had 6 girls behind the bar working. It’s a pretty big restaurant with about 30 tables. Only 4 tables had customers when we entered. Some how they messed up or order and all 6 girls were flustered with only 6 customers in the restaurant. One girl asked us if we were helped and we told her we just needed to pick up food that was already ordered, she went to the back to go check and never came back. Another girl came asked the same question and came back 5 mins later with our food. We were a foursome and ordered 4 meals. We only got two. Then paying was a nightmare that took another 10 mins. Needless to say by the time we got to the 10th hole we were the 3rd team in the que waiting on the same guys with the kid. They held up 4 teams on the entire back 9. We teed off at 10:10 and didn’t leave till 4:20pm. Great course but everything else stunk.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Good Ol Lake Arrowhead
Best course around for the money. Fun and challenging layout, but plenty of wide open fairways to let your driver fly. The staff here is great, super friendly. Theres an all grass practice range and short game area and a solid putting green that’s in great condition for the time of year. Course conditions were good, not pristine, but definitely far better than some other metro ATL courses that charge double the price. All in all, you can’t beat this course for the price. $43 for a 2pm tee time with a small bucket of range balls. Worth the drive up every time!

Challenging
The course was on the long side but still good. Make sure if you don't have a local playing with you that you have access to course layout or at least a GPS. Lot of hazards you cant see and yardage becomes important. Very friendly staff and I felt welcomed! Condition of course was good considering it's winter.
