Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

I played this course last year and it was in great shape, great layout. This previous time they had punched the greens, which is fine, but it hadn’t been cut in days and was as long as I’ve seen a green, even in maintenance time. The fairways and tee boxes were full of weeds. Sad to see, I hope they can get it back.

Go play here before it gets cold. Relax and appreciate the layout, scenery. Fairway fringes have some tall growth and will get a mowing with the dry weather. Greens slow but grown in from aeration. Will be nice next couple months.

Overall condition of the course was alright. The greens were punched two weeks ago and they were rolling super slow. Pitch marks all over the greens and they are in desperate need of a trim. Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers all need significant work done to them. For me though, I love the lay out and for the price, I can't complain too much and I would go back. Pace of play was super slow.

I've played this course around 8 times. This last time on Sunday was the worst I've ever seen it. Normally the opposite is true, it's always very good. The fairways had crabgrass in them, the bunkers hadn't been touched for weeks, and the greens looked like shag carpeting from the 70's. The entire place looked like someone has neglected it for a month. I love the place, it's my favorite course to go to, however, in the future I'll call first to see if A. the greens were mowed that day. B. the bunkers were raked that day, and C. do you still care about being a great course? Disappointing doesn't begin to describe the feeling I had playing there this past weekend.

I’ve played this course for years and it was always well maintained. What I played today horrible. Half the tee boxes were dirt, the fairways and rough was very long and the greens were longer than most fairways I play at other courses. To be fair, the greens looked like they had been punched in the past 2 weeks, but they had a significant amount of weed growth in the turf. The bunkers looked like they hadn’t had anything done to them in weeks. I think imo key saw 1 bunker with a rake around it. Very disappointing to see how this course has gone down in 6 months.

I was looking forward to playing the course but found it to be poorly maintained and in poor condition. The fairways were full of weeds and not cut in some areas. The greens were covered with ball marks. The bunkers were not maintained and lacked sand. Overall I was very disappointed with the course conditions and won’t be returning anytime soon.

Thanks for mowing the rough. I putt better on the aerated greens. They had been too fast. I would like hole five better from the ladies’ tee. Staff members are friendly and helpful.

So this was the make makeup round for the rainy round on Labor day. This round could not have been more perfect then it was. I started out playing single and paired up with another golfer on the dreaded 5th hole, we had a blast and my score was definatley better then the rain day 😀.. weather was perfect and the pace was superb. Again the scenery was great and the deer visited again on several holes. Will be back again soon.

Tee boxes were over grown, there were weeds all over the fair way, the greens were punched and sanded so the balls didn’t roll, but hey it was 22 bucks so I can’t complain.

I always enjoy Lake Arrowhead golf but I feel that Mgmt. has let the course grow wild. Lots of weeds all over, the rough is way over grown, too much sand on the greens after aeration Bunkers are eroded and unraked. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Maybe they are understaffed in their groundskeeping. The rates are way overpriced right now IMO for the condition of the course.

Course was great, played before, we got rained on though so wasn't a good outing. Going back tomorrow to hopefully have a better experience and SCORE :) .

The scenery is amazing and plenty of deer's hanging out, not causing any issues.

It’s a cow pasture with a lake nearby. Course design / set up is terrible. To top it off…greens punched and heavily sanded within past week and we were not notified. Do. Not. Play.

Great layout, greens in good shape but fairways and tees are like cow pastures. Weeds in fairways, no consistency in grass length, no quality around the green as grass left to just grow. Tee boxes, similar, grass too long, weeds all over. You would expect a much higher quality from a resort course that doesn’t even get that much traffic.

Plus, no mention that the front nine is closed so ended up playing back twice.

Beautiful course but it will take a lot to make the drive again unless they improve fairways, tee boxes and the overall condition of the course. The layout is great though, every shot requires thinking.

Had fun, I have played this course before so I am familiar with some of the more quirky holes like #5. Course staff couldn’t be more friendly.

Course overall needs work. Weeds are growing up in a lot of the rough areas as well as some of the fairways. Traps on #10 had crust on top and don’t appear to have been raked in weeks. Not quite as refined as some other local courses that are similarly priced. Greens were soft but fast. If they could kill the weeds in the fairways, deal with the overgrowth in the rough areas and spend some time on the bunkers it would be a great improvement.
