About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Highly Recommend
Hidden gem with great scenery, Definitely a challenging course with a tough layout. Greens were in great shape aside from people needing to fix their divots. Will be putting this on the replay list for sure,

Nice course with beautiful setting!
We enjoyed our round with everything being top notch, except the pace of play and a couple greens with infestation. Our round at 10:10 wound up taking 4 hours and 45 minutes, possibly the longest round I’ve played. Hard to get in rhythm, etc…the layout, fairways, etc were great. We did notice several greens had a rough roll because of some infestation, but all in all it was an enjoyable round.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope to see you again soon!

LA in mid August
My Friend and I have been playing a different course each Sunday all Summer. By far, Lake Arrowhead is in the best shape out of sll the courses. The scenery is awesome snd we must have seen deer on every other hole. We will be back in a couple of weeks.

Weeds everywhere!!!
The fairways, greens and the bunkers were infested with weeds (yes, even the bikers). Course was in horrible condition. Will not return until changes are made!!

Getting a bit rough around the edges
Another nice round at Lake arrowhead. Staff in the clubhouse are very friendly and practice area is one of the best you will find. The course itself is in fair condition but some of the bunkers have a lot of crabgrass in them tee boxes are getting a little worn and the first cut around most of the greens is pretty deep and you can lose a ball easily if you are off the green with your approach.
It has been raining a lot recently so maybe the course is not able to mow these areas but some maintenance is definitely needed.The greens are in good condition but would be a lot better if people repaired their divots
Pace of play was fine but could have been better if the twosome in front of us would have let us play through.Just didn’t have any golf etiquette and one guy must have taken 30 to 45 seconds on every shot after we caught them on the 14th.Probably would have finished 20 minutes faster but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Did not see a Ranger or cart girl all day but sure did see a lot of deer and wildlife especially on the back nine.
A few more sprinkler heads with the yardage information would definitely help but there are 150 stakes and red markers for 100 yards.
Overall a nice place to play,just don’t get behind a dump truck on your drive after you enter the community to the golf course That’s nearly as bad as slooow players

Front 9
Sprinklers were going on #1 so we had to skip it. Sprinklers came on #4 while we were playing it so we had to move on.
Sand traps were full of grass and weeds

Suffering greens
Why is it that courses that have memberships have the worst greens? Members refuse to fix their ball marks for some reason…. Guess they figure someone else is supposed to?

Course going down hill
Dont know what happened but course has had no maintenance in a while. Greens were not cut( sunday am teetime) very slow. Fairway and rough not cut for a while., 1 foot tall weeds growing in rough. Bunkers have grass growing in them haven’t been worked in over a month since the last played . On top of all that was over 445 round no marshal or cart girl.?

GREAT COURSE FUN TO PLAY. JUST NEEDED A CART GIRL ON HOT DAYS. BUT DEFINETELY WORTH IT. AND I WILL BE RETURNING.

Great Course
Very nice course and excellent price. Waiter in the club house wasn’t very friendly and the club house was not serving lunch.

I really enjoyed the course and especially the wildlife. Saw a family of deer grazing on a couple holes including 2 beautiful white-spotted fawns. Course was very challenging. The greens played slow and the sand traps were damp which made playing from the sand difficult. Overall though, I really enjoyed this course and will definitely play there again. One suggestion to make the course better is to provide distances to hazards from the tee boxes. There are a couple holes with a creek or hazard that were 200 or so yards off the tee. Wish I knew the distance to the hazard before I hit my drive and lost my ball after what I thought was a great tee shot!!
