Challenging
If you’re looking for a new place that will challenge your game try it out. Fun layout with a good test of game.
Good value for the money
Good course to work on your swing or take your kids if they are just starting out. Could have used a starter to combine singles/twosomes as pace for the first few holes was very slow. Ranger did come around after 3-4 holes and made groups pair up, which helped.
Several greens are extremely sloped so if you were above the hole and missed your put, it would roll off the green. This further slowed play as many players on the course are inexperienced and trying to learn the game.
Staff was very nice. Decent value for the money but keep your expectations in check. This is not Chateau Elan.
Good, Affordable, Friendly
It's been many, many years since I last played Pine Hills. We used to make the drive over from Athens as undergraduates. Nothing much has changed. And that's a compliment.
My 14-year old son just took up golf and I knew just where to take him for his first official round. It's a 45-minute drive from Atlanta, but the course is very affordable, relaxed and forgiving and the staff is super-friendly. He really enjoyed the experience!
Don’t waste your time
Range balls were cracked, range was all mud. Course is awful, the greens are pitiful, pace of play is unbearable. This course is probably the worst course in GA, my fault for driving out to Winder. I wouldn’t recommend this **** hole to my worst enemy. Do not play here.
Fun course
I’ve played here a few times and have enjoyed it every time.
Great price for the money
Great opportunity for a new golfer to get some good practice in, like I did!
Better condition than expected but still average
I didn’t expect the greens to be any good but they were pretty nice. Fairways were obviously dead but at least manicured pretty well. Not too muddy. Some of the tee boxes were mostly dirt. For the amount of money it was fine. Two hour frost delay in the morning backed everybody up unfortunately.
