About
Hapuna Golf Course stretches along the beautiful Kohala coastline before rising to over 700 feet above sea level. The snow-topped Mauna Kea volcano serves as a dramatic backdrop and there are seemingly endless views of the Pacific. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay collaborated to create a visually stunning links course that utilizes the natural contours of the landscape and silky fescue grasses. The design team has received praise for not only the challenge of the design but also for how seamlessly it blends into the existing environment. Palmer incorporated several risk-reward opportunities, especially with the par 5s, the14th is a good example. There are many ways to play this hole, which features a large ravine on the right and a wide, but shallow green. Long hitters can reach the green in two but short hitters prefer two shots and a par 3.

Challenging
Bring lots of balls! Fun course but I was not the only one to loose balls. Lost 6, found 10.
great course
Love the ocean views. Great day. a bit of clouds and breeze to keep the heat down. Great pace, and challenging course.
Nice views and fun to play
Not as penal as sister course Mauna Kea, but not as visually spectacular either. A fun place to play with nice ocean views from most of the course. You won’t be disappointed.
Blind shots
Lots of blind shots off the tee if you play Black
Looks like tarket golf from back there. But not as bad as it seems once you reach your second shot.
Hapuna needs to be played several times
You will appreciate and enjoy the course more once you’ve played it several times. Angles can be important and green reading is difficult. Our recent round was ruined by a very slow group of inexperienced players that didn’t know enough to let us through ....a Marshall would have saved the day but none was to be found.
Beautiful Course
Course was immaculate, beautiful course, great shape, Did it in 3 1/2 hour. Could’nt be happier.

Greens were awesome. Very nice layout. Lots of up and down.
Beautiful views
Lovely course, great practice area, beautiful views of volcano, ocean, nature. Not a walkable course in the heat I think...too hilly and holes too far from each other.
lots of fun
Played the course in just over 3 hours. local weather had been very dry, and other local courses we played were crusty. but not Hapuna.
great layout, some challenging holes and great views.
will be back. highly recommend.
Tough layout for high handicap.
Everything and personnel, were outstanding.. course is not fun for a high handicap golfer or short drives. Other than that it was great.
