About
Hapuna Golf Course stretches along the beautiful Kohala coastline before rising to over 700 feet above sea level. The snow-topped Mauna Kea volcano serves as a dramatic backdrop and there are seemingly endless views of the Pacific. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay collaborated to create a visually stunning links course that utilizes the natural contours of the landscape and silky fescue grasses. The design team has received praise for not only the challenge of the design but also for how seamlessly it blends into the existing environment. Palmer incorporated several risk-reward opportunities, especially with the par 5s, the14th is a good example. There are many ways to play this hole, which features a large ravine on the right and a wide, but shallow green. Long hitters can reach the green in two but short hitters prefer two shots and a par 3.

Spectacular Course
This is a great course. It wiggles it’s way up and down the lava flow with spectacular vistas a some difficult blind dog legs. The course is in great condition. The Bermuda rough is just that- thick and spongey. Greens are nothing short of perfection with minimal blemishes. Like it’s step-sister? Cousin maybe? Mauna Lani, it’s worth playing.
I did encounter some slow play, a very slow foursome. They let several parties play through at the turn and the universe was again the way it should be! It was a great outing!
Beautiful course
Couldn’t use discount coupon because it was booked through GolfNow. Nobody’s fault but Mine for not knowing. Greens were punched in April and still rolling a bit rough.

Most beautiful courses I have played, Fantastic ocean views on every hole.
It can be challenging
Course can be narrow without some course knowledge but great views and there's a beer cart!
Sanded greens
Greens were sanded the day before we played. Didn’t know it when we showed up at about 10am. Turns out the sent a email a 8am offering to help me cancel the reservation. Didn’t notice it until that evening.
Can’t imagine how fast the geens would have been without the sand. Additional benefit is we almost had the course to ourselves. Had a food time. Views were great.
Awful Greens
Should have notified us the greens were. Aerated and over sanded on 6/2/21

Excellent greens
One of the best course conditions I’ve ever played. Fairways and greens were perfect. Course is a little tricky due to blind shots but it was still great

Good resort course. In good shape. Greens excellent.
Poor condition
Greens were good everything else poor.
Golf carts poor no gps and sprinklers or other yardage markers poor
My fault I suppose, since part of Mauna Kea resort I expected similar conditions, carts and amenities as Mauna Kea.

Fairways, greens and vistas are amazing!! Very fortunate to play this Hawaiian gem!!
