About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

Such a Shame
This course used to be decent. It has fallen into disrepair and started to come back in 2023. But 2024 has seen it take multiple steps backward. The traps are unplayable either filled with rock, mud, water, or rock hard. Drunk players have bashed holes into greens, trash cans overflow all over the course. The water jugs have all been stolen.
The course does not have enough carts to supply for riders and when you get a cart it often runs out of battery half way through your round. Carts are left abandoned in parking lots and around the course.

Very good condition considering we plated on a Friday after an outing.

Can’t complain for the price, but nothing special.
Carts were nice but the bunkers are clay and have rocks you couldn’t lift. Laughable if i’m being honest. Greens were fine for this time of the year but the course could really use some work.

Traps need some TLC, otherwise, course is exceptional , many ball marks needed attention, and we repaired far more than we made. Course is super nice, and a good value

Gravel pits
The pace of play was great on front nine but boged down on back nine. Greens had unrepaired ball marks even divets
The sand traps were hard gravel pits some were mud holes in spots. A big disappointment.

Pace of play
I've played this course many times in the past few years. Each time it's been spectacular and haven't had any issues. This last time we attempted to play it was the slowest pace of play I've seen ANYWHERE. It took 3.5 hours to get through the front 9 after which we just decided it wasn't worth our time and left without finishing the round or getting a refund. There was no starter or ranger keeping up the pace of play and I ran into multiple groups of 5-6 players all playing together... if that's what you want to call it. Beware this might be the longest round of your life... but hey if your time isn't important to you then this is the course for you! Happy swinging

Go anywhere else
The course is in possibly the worst shape I’ve ever seen an 18 hole course be in. I’ve never seen greens be in such terrible condition. Huge divots on every green that people don’t fix, ball and cleat marks everywhere, brown in some spots from all the foot traffic, and goose poop everywhere too. On top of that, we started about 20-25 minutes later than our scheduled tee time, with the pace of play nearly 5 hours (not including our late start waiting time). The icing on the cake was when my cart ran out of battery on hole 13-14. We were a morning tee time, how did the cart run out of battery?

Has gone way downhill
Course in really rough shape. No one out pushing pace of play. Came to a dead halt at #9. Bunkers are all either hard as rock or filled with water. Been years since I had played this course but it just doesn't seem worth the money nowadays.

First Time Playing Here
The front 9 is a good challenge. The back 9 however has narrow fairways and water, water and more water. Above average golfer should have no problem playing here. Tee boxes are torn up on a good amount of them. Greens lack some solid grass in spots. Bunkers are in a bit of state of disarray and doesn’t seem to be maintained recently (to be fair with just had a big storm). Staff is very nice and friendly. No driving range to warm up is a disadvantage.
