Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

This I just one of the holes I believe 17 Photo submitted by fid12602 on 09/18/2013
Played on Thanksgiving. Lucky enough to get a tee time before they were all taken. Course was in good shape for this time of year. Everyone on golfadvisor always complains about the bunkers but anyone who plays Tamarack regularly knows the bunkers have been in need of repair for years. Give yourself some relief in the bunker to make a shot.
Average course for decent price.
Played this course on a cold Monday morning. Rate of play was amazing as there was no one else on the course. No playable sand bunkers but otherwise the course was in decent condition. Layout was fine. Decent amount of water for some reason. Somewhat challenging for a beginner.
underrated course
good challenging course. back tees not in play but 6400 yards in 48 degrees played long enough for us. greens were fast and moderately undulating. some bunkers and tee boxes in need of care but great course for the price. will play again
Very Sad
I have noticed in the last 4 years that the course has not been maintained like it was when I first started playing here in 2005. The cart paths are in bad condition. There are a lot of dead parts of the fairways and rough. The flags are completely faded.
The worst part are the bunkers. The bunkers had debris, rocks, the bottom material exposed and hardly had any sand in them.
I have played 40+ rounds of golf this year alone and this was definitely the course with the worst conditions. It is very sad to see what has happened to Tamarack in just the last few years. I hope that management company turns things around. I'm sure golfers would want to get their money's worth. Not to mention that it is located in a very nice area.
Disappointed in course conditions.
Sand traps were grown in. Looks like things are being left unattended. Pace was fine but played on a cold windy day so not many people on the course.
Good value for what we paid
The weather conditions for play today were great. The rough was long but the fairways were in good shape. The sand traps were in bad condition and need some TLC. Overall, though, it was a good value to play this course.
Course Has gone down over the years
The fairways and greens were nice. The sand traps were so bad with weeds and big rocks that they were all designated “ground under repair” - so sad and shows the lack of investment in keeping the course nice. I now see why it was the only local course with available t times when all others in Naperville were packed solid
Waste of money
I was a member for 5 years on this golf course before the new owners came in. The current conditions of the course is the worst I have ever seen. I will never go back to the golf course again. Which is very sad considering me and my father play back course sometimes 5 days a week. When I died I never play for 3 and a 1/2 years. I went back today to see and remember my father. It was one of the worst days of golf of my life. The condition of us golf course is so badd that the sand traps have weeds growing in them that are at least 2' high. I am very upset that a beautiful golf course can go so badd so fast. All to make a couple of dollars for the new company. Truly a sad state of affairs. Sorry for the bad review. I tried uploading pictures will not let me
Needs help
This course used to be always in great shape. Not so today. Weeds and rocks (big) in bunkers, very little sand. Many dried out areas and ruts. Worst shape I've ever seen it in. Too bad.
Great potential, needs a little love.
The course is a fun, challenging layout, but fairways and rough are very brown and dry. Greens in good shape, but course needs some better all around maintenance.
