Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

Tamarack - Good course to play
I enjoyed my round. There are chances to lose balls with water in various spots of the course, so prepare for that. The overall course was in fine condition and the pace of play on a Sunday was about 4 hours. The only surprise I found was a request to pay an added $6.00 after being fully paid on GolfNow. as they claimed an issue with receiving payments through GolfNow, which I never had an issue before anywhere. I did not pay it and played. I contacted GolfNow afterward and they had no knowledge of any issue and were going to contact Tamarack.
Very well laid out. Pace of play was great for an early Saturday morning at just under 4 hours. Greens were decently fast. A couple stops on the fairways were very wet and a couple of the bunkers were unplayable due to either rocks or very compacted but did not hurt the round at all.
In need to serious attention
Tamarack is in dire need of a make-over. The course layout is challenging enough, but the overall conditions are terrible. Bunkers are mostly rocks with very little sand, most of which is hard as concrete. Fairways are in riddled with divots, greens look like the surface of the moon with ball marks everywhere.
Pace of play is brutal. If there's a course in dire need of a ranger, this is it. Count on 5-ish hours to complete your round.
I've played Tamarack a handful of times this year because it's in-network, close, and super cheap and it's progressively gotten worse every time. I really hope Arcis Golf spends a few dollars this fall and brings this course up to its full potential.
Sunday Afternoon Golf
I remember when this course was well maintained, it’s not anymore. Fairways, greens, tee boxes and bunkers kind of suck. It’s always been a pretty nice layout but course conditions could be a lot better. Pace of play was decent and they give you a free drink with your round. The golf carts are new and pretty nice.
Overall a nice way to spend Sunday; $30 for a round with cart, beverage, and some laughs with my son on a picture perfect day.
Anyone plays at any time
Throughout the round multiple groups entered on various holes. On hole 4, 10, and 17 people attempted or successfully joined the course. When presenting this to multiple members of the staff, we received apologizes but didn’t see a course ranger one time. I mentioned it to the pro shop after the round and they said they appreciated it being brought to their attention. It wasn’t beyond unprofessional and delayed the speed of play further than necessary. Will most likely remove this course as an option moving forward for our weekly weekend round.
This course is in awful shape!
New management has had no effect on the poor quality of the course.
If you stray you pay
Tees, sand traps, and greens could use some work. That said it still is a good value for your money
Rake the sand
They have not raked the sand since the winter. Grass was growing throughout the sand and was very hard. We had to rake and area and drop the ball to make it seem fair.
Golf now charge
Booked a time, was on our way to the course. Got a call from the course saying they were closed the rest of the day. ( I am assuming they have too much water on course from the past couple days weather) did not receive a credit from golf now.
Sadly I will not go back
This place was horrible, the worst I have ever had as a golfer of 25 plus years. It took me 6 hrs with a cart. The Mgr told the starter/pro shop guy to put our group on back nine and no more groups go off front at 840 am. So coming in to make the turn there was 4 groups waiting on the first tee number hole #1 I asked the guy what are you doing he said they have a team time on the first. This place was basically squeezing as much golf in
For the money. They had a league as well so stuck on the first tee for 35 mins and backed up every hole. Wasted my time and money for sure
Needs work
staff was friendly
Carts great shape
Tee boxes just shredded
Fairways unrepaired divots all over
Bunkers junk, rocks, no sand, cloth showing, mud puddles
Greens ball marks not repaired
Garbage under trees/bushes floating in the water.
Needs a lot of work
The rough was good if you are in it you pay the price.
The layout was fun and made you place your shots.
April Golf
Typical April golf wet and damp but warm enough to get in 18.
The clubhouse staff is very friendly; however, the clubhouse needs a refresh.
Felt good swinging outdoors again.
I’m a fan
I like this course. Conditions were pretty wet today but it was raining. Still played pretty nice other than getting much roll out. I’ve played her many times. I really like the way the course lay out. It mixes things up and doesn’t drag. It’s challenging for sure. Plenty of holes that will punish you if you miss the fairway. Good amount of fairway bunkers placed right in the average players danger zone. They keep the sand in good shape though, even today. I really like the home stretch. The last 5 holes are tough but fun. I always feel like I want keep playing when I walk off 18. Some pretty solid rates as well. If I lived a little closer this would probably be my home course.
