Online booking problems
I booked a morning tee time. There were no issues when I checked in. When I went to the starter he said my tee time booking already had a foursome. So now I had to wait for awhile until the starter found a thresome coming off 9 th hole. When I finished 9 the starter had to find another threesome on the 1st tee. While the starter was fantastic I ended up waiting around for an extra 45 minutes because they apparently overbooked this tee time. Not sure if this was a one off problem or not but that should never happen. Otherwise nice course and I will go back.
Wet and soggy
Too soggy after a fresh rainfall. If you can “pick it” off the turf you’ll be in great shape. Otherwise you will be like me and hit allot of fat shots with short irons.
Hard pins, and lots of ball marks
The course was in great condition and was playing very hard with some brutal pins on the back nine, but we enjoyed the challenge. The only problem was that it seemed like no one was fixing their ball marks on wet greens making some holes not as well kept as they should be, but that is no fault of the greens keeping crew. We also had several roudy groups hit into us without warning which you expect at a municipal course but not necessarily at a course that tries to be among the best in Oregon. The kitchen and bar also closed at 4 so we were not able to get any food or drinks after your round which was disappointing. But for the value I would definitely do it again for $60
Great course
I love this course not a super difficult course but you do have to think and strategize each shot.
Great course
I love this course, it is a course that is not difficult but it does make you think. The staff is always friendly and the pace of play is perfect.
Usually great...think just a bit COVID weary
We have play North course at Reserve on several previous occasions. The greens were pretty beat up toward the end of the month on this public side. The Reserve alternates their South course and North course every other month for their members/public. Let’s just say, I don’t think their members will be thrilled with the greens on the north course when they alternate back in October. Still a beautiful course. A little slice of heaven in the middle of Aloha!
The best on the west side
I always enjoy playing the reserve. Pace of play today was great despite having groups in front. Tend to get better golfers here so étiquette is a must. Fairways, greens in great condition. Looking forward to my next round here.
Great Experience
The North Course was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and we were able to play our round with no delays. The course was in great shape from tee to green. We will definitely be back!
Well Maintained, Good Value, Walkable
Played on a partly sunny day, little wind, and near 80 degrees, pace of play was fine (our group in fact needed to speed it up a bit). The greens rolled fast and true and seemed to get faster as the day went on. It was nice to play with a buddy who had local knowledge of some of the elevated greens (especially #13 short par 4 dogleg left) that have U.S. Open - type shaved roll-offs if you hit the wrong part of the green / trajectory, which I embraced as a fun challenge but others in our group felt was too clown-mouth.
I also liked they had an extra par 5 and an extra par 3 for 8 par 4s, 5 par 5s, and 5 par 3s, which allows for extra birdie opportunities.
The staff were friendly and helpful and I felt the price was a good value. Looking forward to playing the South Course next time I am in Portland area!
The clubhouse looks like a castle, some awesome architecture with pyramid gables.
Really swanky
This is a great venue and the course is immaculate. Probably the nicest course I’ve played in Portland. It’s too bad that they are seeing so much development around the course or I would have given 5 stars.
