First class
Wow!
Such a nice layout and good condition course.
Challenging and rewarding if you choose to. Will be back to play again.
MUST PLAY!!!
I played this course last year while visiting family in Portland, and I absolutely LOVED it! So, it was a no-brainer to play again this year when I visited. Found a good deal online for $42 riding. The course is incredible. It has a great variety of holes, some easy, some hard. The only hole on the course that is really bad is #13. You hit across a creek into a fairway, and then there's no obvious green that you are shooting towards (when I played last year for the first time, my friend and I were searching around to find out where the green was!). When you finally find the green, it's like you are hitting into it from behind the green: it has mounds and rough IN FRONT of the green that you have to hit over, and then a shaved run-off behind the green like you would usually find in front of a green. Just a TERRIBLE design (by the way, I parred it this time!). The condition of the course is amazing... perfect tee boxes, perfect fairways, and perfect greens! There are quite a few areas of "native grasses" which can really eat your balls if you get in the wrong spots. Staff last year was superb, but this year the person in the golf shop and the starter were both very stoic and didn't seem very happy. Also, there wasn't anyone at the bag drop or at the cart return. So I had to schlep my clubs from my car to the cart, and then just walk away after I finished. This was quite a difference from last year, as the girl at the bag drop was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, and the young man at the cart return offered to clean our clubs and asked how we enjoyed our day. Not a big deal, but definitely a downgrade from last year.
So, in conclusion, you MUST play this course if you are in the area. Just try to find a deal on GolfNow or Last Minute Golfer, as the regular price is $75 to ride. But even if I couldn't find a deal, I would play there... it's that good!!!
Big tough Greens
Great fairways. Big quick greens, course was in great shape. Compliments to the Grounds crew.
Love this course.
Great course!
The North and South courses at the Reserve Vineyard and Golf Course are two of the finest in the Portland Metro area. Play them whenever you get a chance. Excellent courses with a variety of tee boxes, and a great bar and restaurant to top it off. Highly recommend this facility!!
US Open rough
The greens are great but the rough was pretty brutal. Overall a very nice course though!
They should have kept the course closed
I have played this course twice a year when I fly out to the Portland area and usually have a great time. Prior to my round this time it had rained for a week and was cart path only. The problem was getting to the ball on the fairway or in the rough. Many times the ball was plugged even in the fairway. Getting to it walking on the very soggy ground made footprints and got my shoes and pants wet. They charged the regular prices for that time of year. They should have closed the course or warned me ahead of time about the poor conditions.
Great course but a bit pricey
First time playing here, but I will go back. I had an early tee time and finished in 3 1/2 hours. The course was in great shape and challenging. Hole 13 is a short par 4 with a small green, not visible from the left side of the fairway, that slopes off to the back. Don't over shoot the green or you will be 30 yards from the hole. The greens were fast with lots of undulation.
Beautiful layout
The location of water on the front nine especially and the undulations plus speed on most greens make for a very challenging course. For this average 70 year old to shoot a 49-47 -- 96 was most rewarding. Par 5s saved the round -- not overly long.
nice course
Had a great time but was uncomfortable in clothes I had to wear. No denim, But they allowed basketball and jogging shorts.
Nice day
Enjoyed round but pace of place was slow, need to get Marshalls on course doing something more than parade wave
Definately one of the best in Oregon
Love this course well kept challenging great views nice club house! What else could you want, other than a better score but i think i know who to blame on that!
Beautiful course and clubhouse
For all the recent heat, the course is in excellent shape.
We played the North course which is a little above our level of play.
Not The Reserve's fault it was 100 degrees!
Overall, a very nice facility. A GN Hot Deal made for a great value!
Great course - need to marshall and keep pace of play
Starter allowed a group 2 groups behind us to go ahead and then when we were supposed to tee, let the group who hadn't shown up go. Pace was slow - it was dark when finishing and no reason to be if people played ready golf. Group in front of us took 25 min to play last hole and were waiting for green to clear from over 300 yards.
Love the course - keep people moving though
Reserve North course
The North course was in as good of condition as I've ever seen either course. The greens were fantastic! The greens in the past at both Reserve courses have at time been somewhat suspect to decent. I've never seen them in such condition, though I hadn't played there in 3 or so years. Without a good deal on Golfnow.com the price would have been far, far too high. We kept wondering WHO is paying $70 - $90+ with a cart??? The course is a $45 course max.
Well Maintained
The course was in great shape. The Greens were not too fast and not too slow. Its a fairly easy course as long as you hit straight, but it can be easy to loose your ball in the tall grass if you dont hit it straight.
Great Course
Would highly recommend this North course, heard the South course is even better.
Loved it
Was able to break my targeted score in this course so I'm happy.
Enjoyable Round
Going off as a single as the second person off the tees in the morning, this was one of the most enjoyable rounds I have played this year, and the best on the North Course. Pace was excellent, the conditions were ideal, and the course was in fantastic shape. Always enjoy playing here, but this was an exceptional experience.
This course is amazing!!!
Excellent value for your money!! The club house is unreal!!
Bang for Dollar
The Reserve is an amazing course in every way possible. If you can find a tee time for your budget lock it down and come early to prepare for a fun round. This is the perfect course to pretend you're at Augusta National one shot behind and coming down the home stretch.
