Very nice experience Thurs pm
See my review of 4/29/19. OV gets tons of play as it's a very decent design and the greens fees are priced right. $29 w/cart for an afternoon round? Yep they'll pack em in for that. Sure the place has some issues with pace of play, cart availability but I've always found the folks there really really nice. The golfing gods blessed our 145pm tee time with a 4 hour round (usually 5 hour and can be worse than that). Downgrading a tad from this spring 3.75 stars because the extreme amount of play has chewed up a lot of tee boxes/divots not repaired by lazy golfers/ball marks. Very fun/playable with lot's of water on the back - suggest you just deal with the cards you're dealt that day because you'll pay double to go play anywhere else.....that's part of the problem.....it's affordable!!
Range Needs Help
Golf course is great playing the blue tees it’s long enough but fair, only comment is the range was in bad shape with barely any grass to hit from and the divots were everywhere.
Played 18 on a Sunday morning after a lot of rain overnight. Course was very wet and cart path only, but we had the course to ourselves. The greens were in great shape besides the occasional unfixed ball mark. Would definitely play again.
Players need to fix ball marks
Course was in good condition especially for the price around here but the players aren't doing the greenskeepers any favors by not repairing and ball marks on the greens and divots in the fairway. Otherwise the course played great - was a little slow but not too bad. Will play again next time I'm town.
Horrible Pace of Play
My buddy and I were only able to finish 13 holes (took 4 hours to do so) ! The pace of play is usually slow at this course, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen it. Tee times need to be at least 10 minutes apart, not the 7 minutes they schedule. Also, they always are running short of carts, which is likely due to the overbooking of the course. Hard to imagine coming back anytime soon.
Great greens
This course is challenging with water holes and homes along the fairways, but still a good course for mediocre players. We got a great deal with a Groupon with hot dog and chips for two people for $69.
Staff was very friendly, pace of play was wonderful, the greens were fast and very readable. Overall I have a great time at this course and highly recommended for the strong and mediocre players.
. Orchad Valley - great course
wonderful course. first time back in a number of years. glad I came back
Great course
I really like Orchard Valley but when it's busy I experience the worst slow play ever at this course. This was a Tuesday afternoon and a beautiful day but it took over 5 hours to finish 18 holes. The holes themselves create a lot of the slow play they just don't flow well to create a smooth pace of play. The other is there was no Marshal to speed people up or tell us everyone is doing their best to move along and its just because the course was full. If it had not been a beautiful day this would have been a frustrating day spent golfing.
Course was in fairly good shape however the greens were slow and bumpy. Probably just due to the recent rain. I think they need some rangers on the course to try to keep people moving.
Be careful of you tee time
There are I am told 72 golf cart available. Had a 3:15 Tee time but there were not carts available. Actually at 3:15, the 2:45 group had yet to go off due to no carts being available. The staff was great, the course is in good shape even with all the rain. The course however needs to be Marshaled, to keep play moving along. The round was a 5 hour round finishing in the dark.
Worst experience
Our tee time was at 3 and they included another guy who works there in our tee time which pushed us back which was already late by 30 mins.
They actually made it look like it was a mistake but I found out that the guy worked there and wanted to play ahead of us and hence we were pushed back.
Will never recommend anyone again
