This course has some challenging holes
I will only play this course if I get a deal on the price. Does have some challenging holes. Like most of the layout. The greens were rough and bumpy. Like I said I will play it again when I get a discount off the regular price but not if I have to pay full price.
Not overly difficult course and was well maintained.
Overall it was a good experience. It was a little slow due to an outing, but otherwise very good and staff was extremely pleasant. I would go back.
Great course
Great course, but I wish I knew ahead of time that the greens had been aerated. It was like putting on marbles. Will go back again to play when the greens have recovered.
Worth playing, but only if you are close to course.
This course was fun to play, but extremely short. I did play it in April so it was not in best conditions yet. Worth playing, if you are close to it. I wouldn't drive in from the city to play this course.
December Golf!
Overall it was a nice round of golf. Normally This course is very well kept and in great shape. Course conditions weren't the best but it is December. Great friendly staff. Id say this course has its challenges but also has some straight forward holes. Would definitely recommend.
No carts; excruciatingly slow play.
Arrived at the course for our 1:36 tee time and were told that there were no carts left so expect a delay. We ended up with a 30 minute delay as others finished their rounds and returned their carts. I should have taken this as an omen. We ended up playing 8 holes in just under 3 hours. No marshalls to be found. I finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to call it a day. The pro shop offered a rain check, but it expires at the end of the year. The staff was very friendly and apologetic. The blame for this starts at the top.
Good course, but takes forever to get in your round
A very good public course, but it takes forever to play 18 on a weekend. I've played here 3 times, and 2 of the 3 rounds took more than 5 hours. That's a several minute wait on every shot, plus 10 holes where we pulled up to the tee and the group ahead of us had not teed off yet. Although it's a good course, a good deal, and very close to where I live, until there's more spacing between tee times, I've given up on Orchard Valley.
Country Club feel.
Excellent challenging course, that is in great condition for late year play. My groups of golfers play whenever possible.
Fun to play, good challenge, friendly staff
Like Orchard Hills a lot. Would have given even higher marks if the staff had done anything to compensate us for golfing on a day when they had sand all over the greens, after aeration.
Challenging and friendly rolled into one nice course.
Love this course, it has a little bit of everything. Water (drought this season dried up a good portion of the main lake), sand and marshes. The first and fourth hole share a giant green but never had an issue with a diff. group on our side of the green. Very nice clubhouse and good golfcarts. Well maintained and friendly course for intermediate or novices and challening for the scratch golfers. Fair pricing and easy location 2 min. south of I-88 and Orchard rd. exit.
