Bartlett Hills Golf Club
About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Course is good but staff at the counter had an attitude since we had booked a low rate via
Golf Now. We booked as a 3-some but he insisted we had to ride with a stranger because we "booked on Golf Now:. The fourth was a moron who thought it was okay to play music out on the course with a boom box. Also the pins don't fit the holes and so they lean to the side. You are not going to chip in with that set up. When brought to management's attention they were very dismissive with a "oh yea we have heard that".
Very Nice Golf Course
Played on a Thursday afternoon with some friends. We had a great time at a very nice golf course. There were no wait times and the course is in really good shape. Would definitely play at Bartlett Hills again
Course near my home
Course in great shape/ pace of play was 4.5 hours/ looking forward to going back
Nice Track
Course was very payable even though the area has received a lot of rain recently. Scorecard is somewhat unique because it lists a combination round of white and gold tees which is very usable for the senior golfer. The greens were very consistent and in good shape. Some tee boxes could use some work, especially the par threes. Also, many traps need more sand. The staff in the pro shop, starter and halfway house are all very professional and friendly. I would like to see them add a GPS system to their carts. I have played here a number of times and will continue to consider it one of my favorite courses in the western suburbs.
Nice course, very slow pace of play.
Great value for the money. Course was in nice shape. Greens were quick but a little difficult to read.
Biggest issue has been pace of play. I am finding that with GolfNow reservations you get placed behind leagues or outings and the pace of play is brutal. Not just at this course but most of the ones that I get a Hot Deal on. I guess you get what you pay for in that regard. But we were behind a 4some who was behind a 5some.... On a 90+ degree day that was brutal...
Nice course though. It always is in nice condition.
great deal
I normally pay double we played in 3 hrs and 25 minutes 3 some. The hot deal was a great value.
If I could play there for that deal daily I would
Bartlett Hills - lives up to it's name "Hills" fun course
Played Bartlett Hills for first time on a Tuesday afternoon. Windy day (gusts near 20mph at times) but sunny. Used groupgolfer discounts we had purchased a year before. If you have these call the pro- shop for a tee time as online charges a $3.40 reservation fee. A friend and I got paired up with 1 other golfer so we had three players. Course was in good shape despite constant rain for a 2 week period before. Rough was a little thick, not sure if it's always like that. Greens and fairways well maintained. It is a hilly course, several blind shots. Undulating greens but many make-able putts. Didn't find that water/creek really came into play, bunkers can and a couple narrow fairways off the tee. Good pro-shop, clubhouse, and halfway house. No cart girl when we were there. Pace of play slowed on the back 9 with 2 foursomes ahead of us. Course could use more distance markers, i'd suggest poles in the fairways rather than in-ground markers. Overall a fun course that I fully intend to play again!!!
Very enjoyable
Spring in Chicago usually means wet conditions and my first round at Bartlett Hills was no exception. I was disappointed to see the course was under cart path only restrictions. It's true that the lowest lying areas of the course were wet and on the squishy side but it was good that there was no standing water or puddles on the course that I saw. Cart path only was still necessary to keep fairway damage minimized. I really like the layout of the course. The elevation changes add a nice alternative to the mostly flat Chicago landscape. Some of the greens have very challenging slopes that make you concentrate as much on your approach shot as on your putt. I can't wait to get back on this course. As for suggestions for improvement, I think they need more and better signage all over the facility, from the parking lot to the cart paths, pointing golfers in the right direction. I'd also like to see the investment in GPS systems in the carts. I realize that municipal courses like Bartlett Hills don't have big budgets for fancy upgrades but GPS helps to speed up play and adds to the enjoyment of the round. Give Bartlett Hills a try for a no-frills, reasonable cost, quality experience.
Good layout
Went after quite a bit of rain so obviously the course was wet and difficult but the layout was fun and just challenging enough. I will come back when it dries up.
