Great course - horrible pace of play
What is it with all the forest preserve courses that a 5 hour round is standard. Tee’d off at 10:30am. Behind a group of 4. These jabronies were slow. I don’t mind missing shots or shanking or whatever but taking 2 minutes to prepare to shank a ball while your 3 other jamoke buddies watch instead of getting ready for play is a joke. Saw a ranger/pro at hole 9 and we asked if he could speed them up. He declined? Nice course. The rebuild was worth it. The pace of play was horrendous without anyone to police it. I’ll be back to give it another chance. Perhaps tee times every 10 minutes isn’t a great idea.
Fun
Great course. There are short par 4s that are a blast to play. Condition was great and staff was friendly.
Worst Customer Service in Chicago
There comes a point in a golfer’s life where you really understand why it’s called a gentleman’s game. Usually it’s on the course when you have to give yourself that extra stroke, or let the faster group play through. Unfortunately for this course, all of that is lost with the management. Now, I’m all for rules and regulations, and protocol, but when you have a member of your party get covid and can’t show up to the course...only to be read that the green fees won’t be refunded if done in less than 24hrs is the total absence of humanity.
We didn’t even want our money back. We just wanted to use his green fees towards our carts. The “manager” from the last 4 years wouldn’t look me in the eye and just kept reading his agreement. Not only would we be charged the absent green fees, he wanted to add $55 for carts. It is a travesty and an embarrassment to the gentleman’s game of golf.
Good for the price, very slow play
It's reasonably priced, and a decent little track for a Sunday round of golf, but 4 hours 45 minutes is too long for a 6000 yard course, especially when tee times are every 10 minutes due to COVID.
Favorite course!!
Have been playing this course for the last 25 years and would
Say this is one of the best course in the Chicago area for Seniors specially the last three or four years It’s well maintained
Friendly atmosphere from Scott cashiers starters and course
maintenance crew
Nice course
First time playing this course. Little crowded and slowed the pace of play. The starter on duty this morning was rude and tried to force us into double playing for one cart on a 9 hole round. Absurd. At least the clubhouse employee knew what what was going on. I’d really not like to begin a round with a bad taste in my mouth but that was not the start we wanted. I’ll be back for sure and not let this one time make want to skip over this place. The course is pretty great otherwise.
Great beginners course
Par for the course with regards to forest preserve golf. Lots of trees (not many come into play), a number of deer, and players of all skill sets.
I am a 10.5 and played with a 6, a 23, and a 30. We all had a great time.
Word of warning the higher handicaps can lose a lot of balls in the woods and the drink. The lower handicaps can lose a lot of balls by hitting through the fairways so bring a dozen regardless of play level.
