Dodging water on the second, and every hole for that matter.. Photo submitted by aaronsbass on 05/18/2013
Windy but very enjoyable day for this Georgian
Traveled up from Atlanta to move son home from college for the summer. Had a morning to kill until finals were over so grabbed hot deal at nearby Indian Boundary. Very blustery day and previous rainy days had a couple fairways flooded but very friendly staff apologized and crew was pumping water as we arrived. Despite that course was in good shape, greens were excellent and fast. We're older golfers so shorter course was good for our game. (We stayed at the Hilton and played Willow Crest the previous day) . Sand traps were mostly muddy and getting worked over by crew, already had a few repaired and in better shape. Had a very enjoyable time, just a great day. Not real crowded and everyone seemed to be playing at a great pace, never had to wait. Finished early and asked staff if we could continue and play front nine again. Very graciously told us since not real crowded play on. Wonderful day and looking forward to next visit in town this August.
Took forever
It took over an hour to complete 3 holes. After calling the clubhouse a ranger was sent out, but pace of play still remained slow. Tee times are staggered only 8 minutes and you will wait on EVERY tee on the weekends
Great Course for the Money
This course offers players like myself plenty of forgiveness when it comes to hitting the ball. The views that one experiences during the round are memorable. In my opinion, the only item that this course needs to address if the pace of play. When I played the course on Saturday, March 24, there were multiple times when my group had to wait long periods of time to start the next hole.
Decent course
I go to this course often and the issues usually rate of play. Course marshals do not go out on the course often. This past round I played the two groups ahead of me merged into 1 group which was slowing play. The group would not let us play through and the marshal did not come when we called. In 3 hours I was only able to complete 12 holes. This has always been an issues at this course. Other than rate of play this is a good course for beginners such as myself.
Overpriced
Overpriced. Course management really bad costumer service always desapointed
Overpriced
5 or less mints tee off
Always someone hitting pass your shots
I have friends who play here a lot so I joy them for that reason they are really and always arguing with manager.//
Pace of play
Pace of play on weekends are horrible on this course. No ranger on duty and you have guys hitting 2 to 3 balls each.
Really Enjoyable
Visiting Chicago for four days. Played this course the first day and I must say I enjoyed the course. Not far from O'Hare Airport hotel. All staff was friendly and polite. We saw a deer running across the course. Selection of food is extremely limited and over priced.
Good Course for Good Money
$30 for 18 Riding at 1245 on a Tuesday is not terrible. The staff is awesome. Booking on GolfNow helps to secure the time. Some of the yardage is off as far as tee to green on the score card. They do have USB Charging ports in each cart. They offer Golf Boards. Beverage cart was around often, water jugs were dispersed well for as hot as the day was.
I will be back to play this course, but I dont go there to be challenged, I go to enjoy the day and its an average course to take average golfers to. You wont impress anyone here, but you wont leave disappointed.
Great value, excellent conditions, close to home.
First time golfing this one. Really impressed with the course design and course conditions. A number of challenging holes throughout and good, short(ish) par-5's on the back 9. Came within 3 inches of an eagle on 17(?). Probably my favorite (so far) of the forest preserve courses.
Indian Boundry
Beautiful Course, with some interesting, if not overly challenging holes. Wide open driving course, so that suited my game quite well. I'd highly recommend this course considering proximity to the city, the condition, the friendly staff, and the pace of play. Hard to beat the value here.
Needs a Marshal
There were no Marshals that I saw on the course to keep players moving. It took almost five hours to complete the round.
Golf Boards! Tranquil nature course
This course reminded me of playing back home in Michigan, being on the reserve, it had some really good looking deer out there too, saw 6,8 and 10 point bucks that'd look good on my wall and in my belly! Course was short and easy for a long ball hitter (250-300 yard drives). Made for a Drive pitch and putt kind of round. Scored a 78, putting struggled, but the back 9 had 3 par 5's that made up for the short par 4s.
The new Golf Boards*******
These things will be around more and more as time goes on, I'm convinced and only saw them on youtube until last weekend and this weekend to go another round on them, it was fun to play a round on this thing, it rides like a snowboard or wakeboard but has the skateboard deck look to it and it's very stable and easy to operate for anyone with some boarding experience. I am convinced I'll be an old man on these 30 years from now still going "woooh" around the course, but where does the golf tee go to sup is up?! Make it go faster! Totally took some of my favorite hobbies and put them into one and I will be back solely for the round on these.....and another low score when I need a round in the 70s for a confidence booster.
We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable experience during your round. Our new Golfboards seem to be a great hit and we are glad that you were able to try them out on the course!! We look forward to having you back on the course this year!
Great course for the money
I played this for the first time with 3 others. We all play locally about 5 to 6 times per month. The greens where in great shape and the fairways were good considering the heavy rain and a few had areas roped off for repair. It took us just a little over 4 hours to play with no backup at all. It is a really pretty course with lots of wildlife! The clubhouse had a good variety of drinks and food choices for a public course and the necessities in the small pro shop. I will definitely play here again.
Chewed up greens & standing water
Greens were destroyed at 6 am ball marks everywhere on all greens standing water puddles on 4 holes from a storm that was a week ago ragweed all over
Indian boundary
To much water on the course and was not waned about it before playing. I have played boundary in the past and the course has never been as bad as it stands now. To the point were I might not play there for the rest of the year. Needs to be shut down for a couple of day to recover.
I do agree with the unsatisfied Clifton, but I think the course bounced back well. And yes some of my fellow golfers felt the course should have been closed to recuperated from the rain. But, we also agreed that the course did bounce back well.
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations during your round. We are experiencing an impact in course conditions as a result of recent rain and are actively working on bringing impacted sections of the course back to normal playing condition. We do our best to communicate this with each guest prior to their round and apologize if you felt like this was not done effectively. We look forward to a quick turnaround and hope that you will be back to play again so we can offer you a more enjoyable experience.
First Time
Played here for the first time, although I live relatively close by, and I will definitely be back. Although the course has suffered from the recent weather extremes, it was still very playable. The forest preserve setting is great and we shared the course with multiple deer and other wild life. Didn't go off one until 5:45 and got stuck behind a slow group in front of us that made for a bit of a slow front nine, but after the turn played the front again, with no one in front of us and almost got in nine again before the dark closed in. Really enjoyed the course. Not to difficult, but very well kept and provided interesting shot setups. Will definitely be back again.
We are thrilled to hear you finally got the chance to play at Indian Boundary and had a great experience during your round. We are working hard to get the course in even better shape after recent rains, and hope you will be back to play again soon!
It's a short corse
This course is too expensive. It's a short course as it is. Fair price would be $30 as a normal rate and and $15-$20 as a special rate.
Thank you for your feedback. Our team works hard to provide great course conditions and friendly service to make each golf experience fun and outstanding. We offer lower rates during certain times of the day, as well for seniors and juniors.
