Fox Run Golf Links
About
Fox Run Golf Links opened in 1984 but over the past two years the course underwent a major renovation that made the layout both more challenging for serious players but also more forgiving for the recreational golfer. The multi-million-dollar renovation included enhancements to the hole layouts, redesigning the bunkers, installing a new irrigation system, and creating new practice and chipping areas. Water comes into play often throughout the golf course and you'll find elevation changes on nearly every green. The water holes will be especially tough if you have a tendency to slice the ball. Thanks to the varied layout, which includes some holes that are wide open and others that are more target-style golf, you will get the opportunity to work on different types of shots. Fox Run Golf Links is a challenging but fair test that players of all skill levels can enjoy.

nice place to play
pace was good but had bunch of people waiting to go behind us and for sure they were going to be slow. As they were those type of people who are known to be slow players, we were lucky to be in front of them and had no issues and played at a good pace of play.
average course
Teed off late not sure why for an early morning round with a starter present. Tee time blocks might be too close together? Played a handful of courses in Schaumburg area during a recent trip, there are definitely better options. Good value course if you're on a budget, but some of the others I played were similar price point with better layout & conditions
Good Pace - Sunday
Course was in fine shape.
Pace good (4 hrs) for a noon starting time.
Played as a twosome/ my wife.
Occasionally waited minimal time.
Nice course for the price
Since being redone, this course plays much better and is in alot nicer condition. Can't beat the Golfnow deals for here.
Unreasonable Staff
I was playing with a friend early morning, 6:56 tee time and we were paired with another twosome. The group in front of us wss playing very slow and the ranger talked to them to speed up play. After a few holes, the ranger informed our group that we were behind pace and a joke behind the group in front and would have to play the next hole from the 150 yardage marker as opposed to teeing off. I lobbied with the ranger politely that it's not my fault that he probably forced the ahead group to do something similar add it's not my fault that one player in our paired twosome wasn't hitting well. Plus, the only time the group behind us wss waiting was on a par 3 where we were on the tee box waiting for the group ahead to clear. On the back 9, we were constantly waiting so souring my round did not help with pace of play.
I paid good money for the round, $63 and to have unreasonable power tripping rangers interfering ensured I would not be coming back.
A great day!
A terrific course nicely located in a neighbourhood in the Chicago area North West suburbs. Greens were exceptional. Well marshalled course. I will return.
Great first time experience
Great discovery in Elk Grove Village. Nice layout could have walked it. My golf buddy and I were impressed by the quality of the fairways and greens and the challenges presented by the water holes on the back nine.
Pace of play
Course is in great condition but when it takes almost 5 hours to play. Course staff management should address this issue!!
Very Nice Golf Course
Played with some friends on a Tuesday afternoon. We had a great time. No delays and the course was in good shape.
Cart path only!
Course did not list wet conditions or advise that it was cart path only. Made for VERY slow play on a hot day. Greens were outstanding though.
Horrendous Management
The course decided to let an outing out at noon on the Saturday of a holiday weekend. It was clear that no one in the outing had ever played golf before, and several of the carts had children in them, who would run around the fairway while our group was trying to tee off. Basically, they treated the golf course like a public park for their kids to play on. Other groups would drive across other people's fariways with zero regard for anyone else on the course.
We teed off a half hour late because of this outing and the first 3 holes took 90 minutes to play. It was only after several people called the clubhouse to complain did they send a ranger out to do something about it. The round still took 5+ hours, which I suppose was better than the 9 hour pace we were on.
When I expressed my displeasure to the starter regarding the first tee box being 3 groups behind, his response was "It's an outing, we can't really do much about it." Yes, there is plenty you can do about it, you just chose not to. A legitimate golf course doesn't allow an outing to back up the entire course, especially on a weekend.
Needless to say I won't be returning to this course
