Highland Woods Golf Course

The weather for my first visit here was very hot and humid (friends suggested I was a bit crazy for venturing out with heat index levels above 105 *F), but thankfully the staff was very friendly and accommodating for all of the golfers out in the heat. There were several water coolers available on both the front & back 9, a range who came by with water & ice, and of course the beverage cart was making regular laps around the course.

I thought the course was generally in pretty good shape for a public course, but there were some diseased areas in a few fairways but that's not unexpected for a mid summer conditions. Two of the three bunkers I found were in decent condition, but the last bunker was one a few around the course that was labeled as ground under repair. Hopefully those few bunkers will be finished with their renovations and put back into normal service soon.

Both times I have played this course there was around 5 carts back up on the first tee box. Very first time I played, approximately 40 minute after tee time start. Very poorly maintained rough., expect a lot of lost balls if you miss fairways. Spend your money elsewhere.

You can expect courses to play a little slow, the first 14 holes were great and played well but the groups started backing up at 14 as a group of older "walkers" seemed to tire out and the last 4 holes took an hour and a a half which is brutal and boring breaks the pace of the game. But it was a warm day and the staff was driving offering ice water and making sure everyone was OK on the course. Its always a great staff!

Fun course, mostly wide open. Course was in great shape.

Highland woods is a nice track play was a little slow but recommend the course

Registered an early tee time before 6am to avoid backups. Waited 20 minutes after scheduled tee time and had a backup of three groups in the first tee. Starter allowed groups to tee off in advance of their tee time, bumping us back. Also allowed groups off the back nine too late so that we hit back up at the turn as well.

Greens were inconsistent and each bunker was drastically different. Course has played better even earlier this season.

Lots of blind shots and lots of dog legs... some quite severe. Course condition poor and greens needed to be rolled. Beautiful setting, but not a “do over”.

I like the course as it is long and in decent condition, especially given all the rain. 2nd time playing here this year. Staff has no idea how to control the pace. They had no one at the turn and groups got held up. Their solution was to force groups to skip holes and play best ball. I’m not a great golfer but don’t play slow. To be asked to change up how we are playing because someone finally decided to notice there were slow groups on the course is ridiculous.

Sue who work the clubhouse was very nice great customer service need more people like her the boxes are nice to put the broken tees at the Tee Box also the nice towels on the ball washer are good too The management should Mark off more areas that need repair especially ones from carts would help the course to improve conditions also would help not to play out of it to make it worse overall course was good for the money

Last 3 times I've been here the pace of play has been horrible. About 6 hours.

Sue was very nice who worked in the clubhouse nice way to start' nice to have the boxes on the t boxes to put the broken tees in and to have the nicer towels at the ball washers course was in decent shape for the money I think management could rope off more the course that's in bad shape so it would repair faster

Today was quite slow, but not unusual for the Weekend. The Starters and Rangers were fine, but a lot of confusion in the Clubhouse - had to wait several minutes for a cart key and that should not have happened. (Typically you just pick your own cart). Usually is a more casual/comfortable place to play.

I play twice a week Pace was very slow called the clubhouse to have the ranger come out had a slow 2some a couple groups in front of us he never came out Stopped at the clubhouse on the way and mentioned it to the lady at the register and she was very rude about it The course obviously does not care about customer service Very sad
