Once was enough
Lots of blind shots and lots of dog legs... some quite severe. Course condition poor and greens needed to be rolled. Beautiful setting, but not a “do over”.
Decent course, Mgt needs training
I like the course as it is long and in decent condition, especially given all the rain. 2nd time playing here this year. Staff has no idea how to control the pace. They had no one at the turn and groups got held up. Their solution was to force groups to skip holes and play best ball. I’m not a great golfer but don’t play slow. To be asked to change up how we are playing because someone finally decided to notice there were slow groups on the course is ridiculous.
Sue great customer service
Sue who work the clubhouse was very nice great customer service need more people like her the boxes are nice to put the broken tees at the Tee Box also the nice towels on the ball washer are good too The management should Mark off more areas that need repair especially ones from carts would help the course to improve conditions also would help not to play out of it to make it worse overall course was good for the money
Pace of play
Last 3 times I've been here the pace of play has been horrible. About 6 hours.
Sue very nice
Sue was very nice who worked in the clubhouse nice way to start' nice to have the boxes on the t boxes to put the broken tees in and to have the nicer towels at the ball washers course was in decent shape for the money I think management could rope off more the course that's in bad shape so it would repair faster
Fun Park District Course
Today was quite slow, but not unusual for the Weekend. The Starters and Rangers were fine, but a lot of confusion in the Clubhouse - had to wait several minutes for a cart key and that should not have happened. (Typically you just pick your own cart). Usually is a more casual/comfortable place to play.
Rude staff
I play twice a week Pace was very slow called the clubhouse to have the ranger come out had a slow 2some a couple groups in front of us he never came out Stopped at the clubhouse on the way and mentioned it to the lady at the register and she was very rude about it The course obviously does not care about customer service Very sad
Round 6/8/19
Had 7:30 tee time but did not tee off 1 until 8:02. No frost delay, but starter let a twosome off of 1 without tee time on a Saturday morning. On the back nine, had a ranger hound our foursome for multiple holes despite us having an open hole behind us. Ranger/starter were quite the combo of stupid and rude.
Highland Woods
Good value. Rain has beat up the greens. Great staff.
Sand traps needs serious work
Had to play back nine twice did not know till I got to the course hole 16 and 18 sand traps are horrendous and unplayable mound of sand very slow play never saw Ranger out at all would have been nice to speed things along considering everybody was playing the same nine twice
Disaster
Got there an hour and a half early to practice putting and chipping. Both practice greens were closed due to aerating so that eliminated my practice. The front nine was closed due to aeriting. There should be some coordination between golfnow and the course. This happened to.me once b4 at a Billy Casper
managed course (Whisper Creek). I could have played elsewhere but took the hot deal offered. Sand traps were in horrible condition and thankfully I only was in one during the round.
I rarely play this course due to the slow pace of play, which was once again evident today.

Sand traps need serious work
course only had the back9 open they should have had a ranger out to help speed people along I never saw him on the Course once bunkers were in seriously bad condition especially 16 and 18 unplayable
Cinco de Fun
Played over the weekend and had a great time. Weather was perfect and course was in good shape. Beers and golf, what more can you ask for?
Thanks for your review. We are so glad you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon!
Played after a week of heavy rain
Course was in amazing shape. The Chicagoland area had at least three days a heavy rain that flooded many communities. After 1-1/2 days the course was in great condition. The course was wet but not sloppy. Greens in great condition. Several if not most of the holes were dry. Great condition for a municipal course. Course tends to get crowded. Pace of play could be an issue. They do have marshalls.
Hi Mark- thanks for playing Highland Woods. We appreciate you coming out. We're glad you had a great round on the course!
Thanks for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your round. Hope to see you again soon!
Great Staff
Staff was very nice and accommodated all of our needs. Not very expensive to golf with a cart and the course is fairly challenging.
Thank you for your review. We are so glad our staff met all your expectations!
Staff goes above and beyond the call of duty!
On April 16th, John Ellis the General Manager of Highland Woods Golf Course went above and beyond the call of duty. John personally delivered the Easter Bundle I ordered earlier that day to my my home. It was my father's birthday that evening and it was such an unexpected surprise to be able to give that gift to my dad in person. John truly went the extra mile and delivered stellar customer care. So thanks again John for your great service!
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate your review and feedback. It's great customers like you who make myself and our team go above and beyond. We hope to earn you business again in the near future. Thanks, John.
