Nice course
First time playing in a couple years, I’ve always liked this course, nice layout.
Pick up the dead grass
Hard to find your ball in the fairway when there’s dead grass all over.
Could be Better
I like this course, but it's in serious need of work. I recognize that money and manpower is scarce, but for Pete's sake, do something with the rough, as it's unmanageable and leads to long rounds, lost balls and a lot of waiting on everyone trying to find balls. Many of the tee boxes were also horrible, littered with dandelions and tall grass. The fairways, greens and sand traps were all pretty much satisfactory, and the course layout is great. Please do some work on it asap!
Closing
This was a private club that was bought by a developer. It was supposed to close over four years ago but zoning battles keep it it barely functioning. It was okay for the price but it has obviously seen it’s day. There were dandelions everywhere even on the tee boxes. The rough was overgrown. We finished the front nine in one hour and forty five minutes but the total round took four hours and thirty minutes. The back nine was a slog..It’s a Donald Ross design that is unfortunately headed for closure. I’m glad we played it but it was barely a C-Minus.
Really falling apart
I like the layout of this old course, but the maintenance was really disappointing . The driving range was closed because they hadn't been able to cut the grass. The greens had some fungus and were very long and slow. Dandelions littered the course making it even more difficult to find your ball in the long rough. A once beautiful place falling apart.
Great course but Cut the Grass!!
Always a great course but the grass in the rough is ROUGH!! Lost way to many balls. More than usual. If this course is going to stay as beautiful as it's been, then cutting the grass is essential. I hate to give a negative review but it was extremely disappointing to have such a negative experience.
Give it time
The greens and Fairways were in excellent condition the rough was very long due to all the rain we've had recently give it some time it will get back into its crate shape
Country Club Feel
The course and facilities have seen better days, but the rumors of closing due to selling persist. They are keeping the course in pretty good shape and for the time of year I have few complaints.
