Nice track
I hope they keep this place open. Great old south side country club feel. Super friendly staff. Got lost getting to a few holes as layout was a bit confusing but really enjoyed it. Need to re do cart paths if they stay open. Glad I finally got to play here
Great value and course
CCC is a hidden gem. Classic tree-lined fairways. Lotsa sand and water. Lovely course. Challenging. For $32.50 with cart, tremendous deal. Can’t wait to return.
Nice course
No food on the course. No beer cart on the course.
Sad to see a gem go.
A Donald Ross design that didn't have the re or location to keep up. But still a great course with challenging greens that roll true. Pace was great. Maintenance is minimal as it will be a parking lot next year. Play it while you can.
Old course still kept up
This course has been kept up as good as it can. I was told the Greenskeeper left and they’ve been trying to hold its own.
The fairways, greens were in great condition. A couple tee boxes were not cut and weeds were growing tall.
I really enjoyed the layout, it was a lot of fun.
Pace of play was slow on the weekend, we’re waiting on every hole.
The course is better then what people may say.
Play it while you can!
Classic old Don Ross golf course that is worth every penny that you pay to play this course. Opened to the public 3 seasons ago and is now 100% public. Word is it may close after this season, but village wants to keep it a golf course from what I hear. You won't be disappointed!
Better late than never
This was my first time playing the venerable Calumet Country Club course. It was an absolutely magnificent day for golf. The staff are friendly and efficient. Naturally, given the current circumstances, the course could use a spruce up. Nevertheless the Donald Ross “bones” are there: interesting routings and shot values. The course isn’t tricked up and the golfer always knows where to place his or her shots.
There are no forced carries, and the lanes on the fairways are very well-defined. The greens are on the small side which requires a moderately accurate iron game. Each green has enough break to make putts interesting to difficult.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and have this course around for a while longer. I think this course is worth playing. Give it a “shot.”
Treasure In Chicago
This course was in incredible condition the staff was extremely friendly. To have access to these Donald Ross greens greens and unique course layout is simply incredible!
