Other than the greens being aerated, standard for Midwest golf this time of year, the course was in great shape as usual. Great golf course by Donald Ross.

Ravisloe is a great course because it's tricky in all the right places, and is easy to walk, and is well priced and is friendly and .... is just perfect all around. Make this your next round and you won't regret it.

HIDDEN GEM
The course went public a couple years back, but theres definitely still a feeling that you're at a country club. BEAUTIFUL old Donald Ross design. Awesome, tour quality bunkers, tightly mowed pga tour quality fairways, thick lush rough, and small fast greens. Oh yes, and 100 ft oak trees everywhere. GO PLAY IT!!!!

Ruined Gem
Arrived at 7am for my 7:20 tee time to find clubhouse and pro-shop closed, no carts and no starter. The maintenance guys were kind enough to bring out carts. The course is beat down. Appears poorly managed. No stakes or ropes to keep carts away from greens making some areas unplayable. Tee boxes are destroyed and some greens almost bare. Too bad as this Ross layout is one of the best in Chicagoland.

Crammed
Beautiful Wednesday produced full tee sheet but they kept cramming more and more people out there. Pace very slow. Marshals were present but didn’t do much. People hitting into each other a lot. Greens in great shape. Not yet punched, smooth and fast. Tee boxes chewed up on par threes. Disappointing. This is my favorite Illinois course and I won’t go back.

Reputation speaks for itself
Place was in great condition and well maintained. Very friendly staff. Beautiful layout and course design. Hour and a half dely due to frost, but that's Fall golf. Starter was on top of his game and got everyone paired up and out. 4 hours for 18. Would definitely play again.
