Golfed with 3 other golfers we where all saying the

same thing….The 2 lines around the tee off markers

Were faded or couldn’t tell the color.. how about painting the sides of the 2markers on each teeoff so you know your at the right tee off..very annoying going back and forth to find out which one is your tee marker and the other 3 said the same thing…OTHERWISE ENJOY PLAYING RUFFLED FEATHERS AND THE STAFF IS EXCELLENT..PLEASE GET THE MARKERS FIXED

We played as a foursome on 8/12/25. We started at noon and were told cart path only due to heavy rains the previous night. Not a surprise to us at all. Every sand trap on the course was unplayable, not due to water, but there was no sand and full of small rocks. The cart paths were in extremely poor condition, large pot-holes and chunks just broken off. The golf course has not seen any weed or fertilization in quite some time. Overgrowing clover, and many other types of weeds all over the course.

We spoke with an employee, he was playing as a single. We asked him about the situation. He told us a member of their corporate office was out the previous week surveying the course. He was told it would cost 2 million to fix the traps due to all the drainage issues. This used to be a nice place to play. They should shut this place down now. Pete Dye is rolling in his grave!

While this course has a ton of potential and could be a top public course in the Chicago area, the Ruffled Feather’s team needs to step it up. The course boasts ~100 bunkers and none of them are properly maintained. It looks like they haven’t filled these things with sand in years and many of the bunkers were unplayable. The tee boxes were terrible, especially the par 3s, which were absolutely beat up. The fairways and greens were fine and the layout makes for a nice challenge. Hard to say I’d come back here anytime soon, hopefully they can clean things up.

I thought course was in ok shape , bunkers not playable on lot of holes Was disappointed no beverage cart was out. Pace of play was terrible with two foursomes playing slow ahead of us and then getting together on 18 and taking 15 mins to get off green with no one out on course to speed these two foursomes up and restaurant was closed also on a Friday.

They have spent zero money on this place , the traps are unplayable and the pace of play at 930 in the morning was embarrassing …save your money and play something else.

Cart died on the front 9. Tee times are too close together. Played here years ago and it’s not the same at all. Not one ball at the practice range…. We had to go outs and pick up our own balls in the apron. Paid way too much money, for a 4:15 pm tee time to only get in 11 holes. Very very disappointed. I was shocked on the number of groups waiting on each tee box.

Very nice layout- amenities include driving range Included in green fee. Oddly, there were no ball washers on the cart or at any tee box. Also, for the price of the course and the very upscale area of its location, you would think there would be a GPS in the cart as well - there was not. The traps were dirt - not sand.

Wish I had better things to say about my experience at Ruffled Feathers. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the course layout was nice. But my gosh those were the worst sand traps I've ever played out of in my 40+ years golfing. Either filled with water and/or hard as a parking lot. Just unacceptable IMO. Also, zero drinking water anywhere on the course other than at the turn where you can buy bottles of water. It was 90 degrees, we teed off at 2:15 and saw the cart girl once.....on hole 2 tee box.

Gotta have drinking water to put bottles in the coolers in the carts. And must do something about the bunkers.

The condition of course was bad,,greens and fairways were ok but the bunkers were brutal especially green side..This should not be the case for a hundred dollar round..Great layout they just need to do better.Five stars all day if condition of the course was good..3 stars 4 me

Prior to playing, we read so many negative reviews and glad we didn't believe them! Sure.Several of the bunkers were a little tough, a little hard.But overall, the course was in great condition. We've been playing all around the southland and I would say, this course was in the best shape of any of the courses we've played.So far this year (Cog Hill, Old Oak, Silver Lake, Green Garden, Coyote Run)

We expected play to be a little slower because of the holiday.We got out early.Unfortunately, it took us almost 5 1/2 hrs to play eighteen holes, 1/2 our foursome.called it after 14 holes, it would have been nice to see a ranger.

Will definitely play again, maybe not when we have other plans!

Always a difficult challenge, and the greens were rolling well. However, for the price tag, the course conditions were sub par. The bunkers were deplorable, most with standing water and had to be dropped out of. Goose poop on tons of holes on the front.

Course is great but bunkers need a little better attention.

Never played here where the round wasn't under 4 hours and 45 minutes. Father's Day round was 5 hours and 15 minutes not even including the 'delay.' Great course with terrible bunkers, but not going back to this place for a long while. You can get similar value elsewhere
