About
Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont is conveniently situated just a half hour outside downtown Chicago. Pete Dye and his son P.B. collaborated to design the course, making it the only Dye design in the Chicago area. A well thought-out strategy will be greatly rewarded on this challenging layout and bad shots made without any thought will be severely punished. This is definitely not a golf course where you can just grip it and rip it. The fairways are fairly straight and forgiving, but most of the approach shots play to tricky elevated greens. There are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and water hazards come into play on several holes as well. Ruffled Feathers Golf Club's par 3s have a reputation for being particularly challenging. But depending on how windy it is, the final hole might present the most formidable challenge.

Needs Work
Not the caliber I would expect from a course that charges $100+ on weekends. Conditions overall reminded me of a local muni. The bunkers in particular were atrocious; basically mud pits. Fairways and greens were ok but showing signs of excessive play. 5 hour round with 9 minute tee intervals caused backups on nearly every hole. On the bright side the staff were friendly overall and apologetic for the delays. I have had better experiences here in the past and hoping this is a one-off.
Course layout is very good
I hope Golf Club owners should fixed 11th hole stone wall ASAP.

Sad to see conditions this bad
Course has not been maintained. No sand in multiple bunkers. Still full of leaves from fall. What used to be a great course falling into disrepair.
Staff was wonderful and friendly as always. Pace was OK - played front in 90 minutes, back was on pace for 2+ but left early due to conditions

For $100 you would expect there to be someone who is monitoring and enforcing the pace of play. We played for 5 hours. Also there is no water on any holes.
Otherwise the course was well kept and beautiful.
Not What It Used To Be
I've played Ruffled Feathers several times over the past few years, although not in 2024. First time there this year and the course is a shadow of what it used to be. You can see what it was, with a challenging layout, water running down the sides of several holes, tight fairways, and plenty of bunkers.
However, 2/3 of the bunkers barely had any sand, the tee boxes are already torn up, and the condition just looks rough. Good luck finding a rake for bunkers. Some $$$ needs to be invested to restore the course to what it used to be, because, as of now, it's not in much better condition than a muni course. For $50-$75 on a weekend, sure. Any more than $75 with cart...I don't see how it's worth the $$$.
Also, none of the concessions were open at 5:45 on a Thursday. So no opportunity for any food or drink on the course.
Good but not the course it use to be.
Played here several years ago and it was very well kept. Not so much today but still a very challenging track. Got a deal on fees or would not have paid full price.

Nice experience
Staff and the general condition of the course were nice.
Aerating the greens took away from the experience.
Should offer a discount when it affects the conditions.

Faded feathers
Pretty tired. The bunkers were hardpan dirt with ruts from the tractor. Very few staff. Electric carts with no GPS. No ranger to nudge the pace of play. They have become an event space for people that want to have a baby shower-- no parking spaces available. Does not merit the $85 I spent on the round.

Bare Minimum for Premium Price
Fairways and Greens in good condition. I’d say 7/10 bunkers unplayable and had standing water. There is no landscaping and no love given to the grounds. For the premium price this place will leave you feeling slightly ripped off. Only worth it for a hot deal or if you’re playing under 70$.

Staff is great. course has a great layout my only complaint would be the bunkers.
Told carts were included
When booking it included carts. There was no call ahead of time just notified our group that it was walking only. 1/2 of us didn’t have push carts and they didn’t have/offer a push cart. Granted it’s February and the girl was very nice about it. Just please let us know in advance so we can prepare

Needs help
Crazy that they’re charging what they are for the condition of this course. Like everyone says, great layout but terrible course management. GM says bunkers are in capital budget for 2026, couldn’t come sooner. Put $ into the course and it’ll be a great track but until then it’s not worth the $.
