Very good
I played during the end of winter and the fairways were brown and damp so not much roll on the ball but was a lot of fun. Some holes you had to plan your shot. Like all the course I’ve played here lots of hills. Looking forward to better weather and play it again.
Will never go back.
Course was ok. Been raining so there's plenty of mud and water. We were OK with that. I've played here many times with friends and my kids. NEVER been treated so poorly by a staff member at a golf course! Or anywhere for that matter. Will never go back.
Terrible
Terrible conditions. City of Oak Ridge cancelled Billy Casper from managing the course and it was a VERY BAD MOVE!!! No food or snacks anymore, 4 total employees to run the entire course, MAJOR drainage issues, greens were so fuzzy you could barely keep the ball straight, fairways with standing water from rains, tee boxes were over grown. Course has probably not been cut since they took over. Used to be a very nice course. Won't be back anytime soon if ever again. Good luck to you if you play there
New Management off to a rocky start
Pace of play was horrible.
Grounds crew insisted on mowing the greens while making us wait on 4 consecutive holes. Never experienced that before.
Very poor condition
Surprisingly very poor conditions.... Hadn't played it in a while and it's much worse now than previously. Greens are in poor condition, fairways are pretty good, tee boxes are a joke.
Great course for the money
This course could easily be a premier course if they devoted a little more attention to some of the details; fairway grass was fairly thick, greens were spotty, and tee boxes were average.
All in all great course, fabulous lay out, and awesome variety of holes making you use every club in your bag. I think it has possibly the hardest opening holes in all of Knoxville.
Good course for the money
We had a 12:04 tee time. Walked in and no carts were available. We were given free range balls while we waited for carts. Free drinks and snacks. With this being said, we were also given a free round of golf at a future date. This was a first class gesture on the golf course's part. Thank you, Don Tillar this foursome will be back for sure.
Wow
Great Casper layout. Greens give a real challenge. Good stuff. Go here and have a blast.
Great Value
Great value on a challenging course with a great layout. Number 7 needs to be fixed, and for whatever reason nobody fixes their ball marks on this course only complaint from a loyal patron.
Good conditions
Fairways and rough are great but greens are full of ball marks.
Hot until the rain came
My friend and I play this course 2-3 times a month. It was very hot on the front nine, but cooled dramatically when the rain started, and boy did it rain.. Other than that a good day for us,. I thought the course was in good shape. For some reason we started on the back nine(ok with me), but it backed up a little. Wally Brogan and Doug Kelley
Centennial golf course
Played June 9, 2017, at 12:04. Challenging layout-forces and rewards accuracy. Greens were FAST. Fairways well maintained. Staff great. Food great. Server friendly, fast, and helpful. Cart was a bit loud for my taste.
Carts near greens
I'm local and play here a few times a year. First time this year and the course is in better sgape than in past years. What got me was all the other golfers that were driving their carts right next to tee boxes and greens. They also drove onto fairways that were closed. I don't think anyone playing that day new how to fix a ball mark on the green. Total disrespect for a nice public cource that won't be for long, I'm afraid
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to Centennial. I really appreciate it. I am sorry you had a less than perfect experience. We have instructed the grounds crew to be extra vigilant about the ball marks and we will increase the presence of rangers on the course as the summer moves on. Hopefully, these actions will help. Next time you visit the course, seek me out. I'd love to talk to you about these and any other issues and observations you have about the facility. Thanks again and I hope to see you here again soon! - Don Tillar Jr., GM
Intimidating tee shots for first time players
Have never played course, and used golfnow.com hot deal to play a 11am tee time on a Thursday. No. 1 tee shot is scary looking from tee box and several others look almost as frightening. However most open up if tee ball struck greater than 200yds. Several tee boxes were bare and many closed. There were two different cart path detours. Greens were fast but had many bad spots. Fairways were in fair condition with bare spots, drainage damage and few lush areas. Pace was really slow with a couple of foursomes holding up play. Was striking ball well off tee box, otherwise would have been a frustrating day. Probably not worth the trip and definitely would not pay more than $25 to ride 18
I am sorry your experience here at Centennial did not meet your expectations. I hope you will give us another chance someday soon. I have passed along your course observations to our agronomy team and they will be looked into shortly. The cart path re-routing is a temporary safety issue. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank for your patronage and feedback and we hope to see you here again soon. - Don Tillar, GM
Great!!
Great course! Great conditions. I love this course
centennial
Course was in great shape. Some difficult holes. Was a nice challenge. Greens were smooth. Wind was brutal and had a 3 some in front of us who played slower than our 4some. Would def play again next time I'm in Knoxville.
