too pricey, mediocre course
I have played this course a few times. Some holes are very prone to rain.
Other holes are awkward to play.
Most holes have the cup volcanoed, up to one inch. Current Sr rate during the week with cart is $56 in comparison with Chalet Hills and Foxford Hills @ $40, both are nicer better maintained courses. THey claim to be booked solid, but I travel past the course or 2 or more times each week

Most definitely the best course around for the money.
Great layout, always in good shape.
This past fall they did an excellent job with the leaves, and they have a bunch of cottonwoods. Those things seem to drop leaves pretty much right after they grow them..
Best Course in McHenry County, Great Value
Prairie Isle has to be one of the most fun layouts in the Chicago suburbs. Add to that a very well maintained course and a great value for what you get, and it’s a recipe for a great experience. Some of the course was created on what was once a rock quarry, so you have some great elevation changes on 7-8 holes. Yes, the carts don’t have GPS, and there is not a practice range, but there is a hitting net, and a very well maintained short game area that is available. Easily my go to course for having fun and enjoying a beautiful layout.

A Diamond in the Rough
I hesitate to let the secret out, but this course has an excellent layout, challenges golfers of all levels but is completely fair (there are no tricked up holes) and it is a steal for the relatively low green's fees. The layout is diverse and you use most clubs in your bag. Greens are true and moderately quick. Excellent course! Nice staff in the clubhouse and the bar/dining room.

I enjoyed it although 30 mile wind disturbed my play.

Best course in Mchenry County
Simply put, best conditioned, best layout, challenging, most fun course in Mchenry county. Lot of elevation changes, part of the course was built on an old rock quarry so a couple holes are reminiscent of golf in Galena. By far the best bang for your buck course in the area.

Great choice for November golf
Possibly the last day in the 70's for the year. Beautiful day, very nice conditions, good pace of play, nice team working there. Fairways & greens in great shape. It was worth the 50 minute drive there.
