Good views and great elevations. In great condition compared to some other local courses. Challenging but forgiving. Enjoyable play by single digit handicaps and bogie+ chops.

Golf course was a good layout but lots of bare spots. Probably due to a lack of rain

I have rated this course in the past. It is excellent. I wish that you could come up with a system whereby I am not asked to rate the same courses I play TIME AND TIME AGAIN!

The layout is challenging, but fair. Not many gimmick holes. There are some great shots from tee to green on this course. Never had a pace issue either.

We were playing on pace with the group in front of us and even waited on several tee boxes on the front 9. At the turn the bartender who was as nice as can be was a little slow in making 4 cocktails. Took her about 10 minutes...not complaining about that though. Group in front got to the green on 10 as we teed off. On tee box at 11 the ranger asked us to pick up the pace. That erks me. We only fell behind because it took so long to make a few drinks. We caught back up on hole 13 though. Too many leaves on the greens too. Simple blower can knock those leaves off quickly but otherwise it's a great lay out and fun course.

We were a foursome and teed off at 3:20 and were behind a foursome that had 2 very novice golfers with one of the group walking and the other in carts. They were very slow with the other golfers standing behind each other as they hit their second and subsequent shots. On every par three we would play the complete hole before they had finished teeing off on the next hole. On one hole they were still on the tee and one of the group had gone back several holes to find some lost sunglasses, they didn't offer to let us play through. Our round finished as darkness set in at 8:30, when one of the staff drove around telling people that carts were due in at 8:00. Very unpleasant experience, Prairie Isle needs to have someone out patroling pace of play on weekends. Ironically, the drink cart came by at least 8-10 times so at least they got that covered. This experience will make me think twice about coming back.

Fast greens, fairways good. Carts are old and a bit slow. . Staff was friendly and pace of play for a Saturday was good.

As the first time playing this course, I was pleasantly surprised by the layout of this course. There are also several picturesque holes as well. I read some of the reviews prior to playing the course, and I agree that this course was fun to play and had a little bit of everything.. This course requires thinking on each hole and not just go out and hit the same clubs you would do any other course. I used all but one club in my bag, and this is the first course that I actually used my 3W to drive. This course has it all, elevation, sloping fairways, blind shots and over water approach shots, doglegs and the occasional narrow fairway. This is a good test of your game, but if you keep it in the fairway as best as possible you can shoot a good score. When you play this course and I highly recommend have a golf plan when you stand on the tee box. Great course and although it was an hour drive for me to get to it, it was worth the time. The greens rolled real good and considering the times we are in the course was in good condition. I don't think its fair to talk about sand traps and their condition, because they're bad all over. Word to the wise...just stay out of them !! The pace of play was remarkably good considering I didn't see a Marshall or starter anywhere and everyone just kept it moving. My hat off to the staff at the course.

I love this course. Sometimes you feel like it's not in Illinois. Fun challenging course. I will play again.

This course was in good condition, greens ran at a reasonable speed and the rough was not too long. On the day we played we had to play starting at the 10th hole for some unexplained reason. We had a tee time which was pushed back to allow additional foursome in front of us.
