Prairie Isle Golf Club

The course was in good shape and lots of fun holes. We gave up after 14 though after waiting about 5 minutes per shot. Trying to pack too many tee times in while not having anyone out there to manage the pace of play.

Course was in great condition, a really good challenging course. I thoroughly enjoyed playing here.

Course in great shape .Fairways clear but roughs had a lot of mulched leaves Lots of interesting holes but not impossible to score if you avoid trouble.

Really only booked this because they had an early tee time and it was a new/never played course.

It's great. I was the first person off, walked in 2:30 hours. Perfect condition for late October, really varied, interesting layout. I'd definitely come back.

First thing I do before any round of golf is hit the range. This course sadly doesn't have one. There's a practice chipping/putting area and a saggy net that you can hit shots into, but that's hardly a replacement for a proper range area.

The course itself was really neat. There's some really fun holes and great elevation changes. The course played much shorter than the yardage, and the tee boxes were so firm it was hard to get a tee into them. If you go keep in mind that there's no port-a-potties along the way, so plan ahead.

Out of all the courses in the area this one wouldn't be my first choice, but I will likely be back at some point.

P Isle is a wonderful public play course. Easy to walk and worth the money to walk unless you not capable. Cart price is a bit steep $18. It’s not the most perfectly groomed course but greens are adequate and roll nice. Fairways are decent but tee boxes could use a trim. What really makes the course is it layout. Big trees and short tight par 4s on 2/3/4 and picturesque long tight driving par 4 9th make the front. The back 10/11/12 are the best holes on the course. 10 a tight par 5 with trouble left and right and in front of green. Bust a bomb drive and you can get home in 2 although that’s rare because it usually into the wind. 11 is a tough tight driving hole dogleg left. Drive it in the fairway your left with and up hill mid to long iron into a 3 tiered green. 12 drive it straight to a20 yard wide fairway or your pitching back to the fairway and wedging on. Hit the sliver of fairway and you catch the speed slope to a 100 yard wedge and possible birdie. The course is a wonderful layout without the perfect conditions. Well worth the money and challenging enough for the low handicap.

Really enjoyed playing Prairie Isle again. Well worth the drive from Chicago. Challenging but fair layout.

If you haven't played Prairie Isle, definitely put it on your list of must try.

The layout is good and the course is in decent condition with good greens that run fast. Much of the other parts of the course are falling Apart.

Had not played Prairie Isle before although heard good comments from friends. Wonderfully surprised at the conditions, layout and overall course. We played in just under 4 hours on a Sunday morning and loved the elevation changes, fast greens. Just a wonderful new course and will absolutely will be back.

Prairie Isle I am pretty sure you find issues everywhere. I have played many many courses in the Chicagoland area and in many states. If you love golf you'll love Prairie Isle golf Course....play well!

Second time playing this course this year. Was not indicated ahead of time that greens were being aerated, And had to play the same nine twice. Rough a little long, difficulty finding numerous balls. Staff unfriendly.

First, I love this course. I have been playing it for about 10 years. The conditions are always better than average. The layout is fantastic. A great mix of open field, elevation changes, and routing through the woods on the back nine. My biggest complaint, and something that desperately needs to change is the pace of play. The last 10 times I have been out here, its been 5+ hours to finish 18 holes. The rangers are doing nothing to manage pace of play. On a hot day it is excruciating. The other issue I have is that walkers are charged the same rate whether they use a cart or not. We played at 9:40 am this past Sunday the 20th of September 2020, we did not complete our round until 3:00PM. That's 5:20 for 18 holes. We waiting for 10 minutes on each tee box, and at least 5 minutes in each fairway.

My husband, son and I played Prairie Isle after a day of 3 inches of rain. The course was in excellent shape!! We were there early, and the grounds crew was busy pumping water out of the traps. Every hole is unique, and the tee shots are framed incredibly. It’s long, especially for women, but fair at the same time. We loved Prairie Isle!!
