West/South at Arrowhead Golf Club
About
There are 27 holes of championship golf available at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton. The course spans over 220 beautifully wooded acres with not a home in sight. The holes are divided into three nines that can be played in different combinations. Throughout the entire golf course, water comes into play on 17 holes and there are 77 strategically placed bunkers. No matter what course you choose, you'll come across several challenges but they can all accommodate a wide range of skill levels. The West/South combination has several formidable water holes, including the seventh hole on the West, which is nearly an island green, and the South's par-3 fourth hole where you will have to carry a massive lake. In addition to the golf course, Arrowhead boasts a practice facility with a lighted range, putting and chipping greens and bunkers

My favorite course in the midwest
Played opening weekend with a co-worker and absolutely enjoyed it. Easily my favorite course in the area. If you see a hot deal, don't pass on it!
The full experience
I played with a buddy here, mid day on the fourth of july. The course was booked solid the whole day, so the course was pretty packed but the marshals did a good job spreading groups out and we were able to complete 9 in about 2 hours. Growing up in the area i must say this place has gone hollywood a little bit, The rates have gone wayyy up from when i was a kid (not that long ago). During that time they have made alot of improvements. The clubhouse/restaraunt is pretty much state of the art, and they have made upgrades to the course/other amenities. If you can find a good value tee time on golf now i would definitley recommend this place.
Good course
We used a discount site for our tee time. Every tee time was $67 except one for $30. At this time of year, almost any course is too much at $67. My friends and I are addicts, but we haven't played Arrowhead in at least five years due to their rates.
The gps was off by as much as 15 yards in some places, so we used our rangefinders. This course needs to add the reflectors to the flags, because some were difficult to pick up. On the 16th hole, the gps gave us a straight line measurement to the green, but the hole is a dogleg, and we weren't aware of the straight yardage to the end of the fairway. Another hole (8, I think) had a large fairway bunker that appeared to be in the middle of the fairway from the tee box. It was not shown on the gps, and was in our landing area.
We were quite pleased that the bunkers had real sand (read: not mud!) Until we played out of a few. In three instances, we hit out of a bunker only to take up part of the mat under the sand.
Overall, we really like the course. A good track that provides a good challenge. The greens are very nice.
Reminds me of playing at the country club
Great grass, fantastic condition, beautiful holes, just fantastic value
fairway and green were excellent.
The agents were very kind and the conditiond of golf course was excellent . I will play a game again later.
this course is a hidden gem.
From the time you arrive at the course and go into the proshop, the people are super friendly. the course can compete with many of the private courses in the Chicagoland area as far as the layout and the course conditions. the green roll extremely true and are fairly quick. Afterwards they have a great 19th hole with a great bar and restaurant.
This is Wheaton uhhhhhh
The layout of the course presents difficulty and aspiring shots. The white beach sand on the east and south course are a treat to hit out of. Greens are in good condition and run true. My only complaint is that this course is in Wheaton, and yes that means you will be amongst hoosiers(no etiquette, arrogant, loud). The sense of playing through is non-existent so setup a foursome or be ready. The staff is beyond rude, just wait to hear the barking starter present his interpretation of the course, hope you have headphones in because he shoots in the 100's. If you escape that you will have some other jag on the course ride up on you telling you your behind pace of play bc the starter put you behind 4 women walkers. My advice play on a Monday or Tuesday or when its cold out, hooseirs hate the cold.
This course is in great condition
Very challenging course. Tough and fast greens but rolls true with consistant speed. Great features and well laid out.
Can see everything in front of you.
For the money it's not that great of a course.
In prime time this place is near $80. for an extra $30-$40 go down the street to Cantigny. Or find much better courses for $80 in the SW suburbs. But then again the club house is pretty spectacular and the food there was excellent but who wants to pay for that when the course doesn't match that level of expectations.
arrowhead course review
Loved the course. Great shape and friendly staff. Course very fair.
The course was in good shape considering the lateness of season and weather previous few days. I would definitely recommend booking thru this site.

Very Nice & Fun to play
Nice day all around. Staff was very nice, course very nice & the bar very nice. I plan on putting it on my yearly list.
The course is beautiful
The greens rolled true and clean would play there again
Recently improved.
There are 27 holes. They completely redid two last year as well and the sand traps. For a public course, it is always in above average condition.
There's a good deal of elevation change for a course in the midwest making it fun.
Overall, the course is fairly forgiving (except for #1 on the east course: trouble on both sides.)
Great clubhouse/bar.
Great layout and condition
This is a great layout with a friendly staff. We played on a windy and cold day and still had a terrific time.
pretty scenic and well maintained course.
There is no boring holes here. Very pretty and well maintained course.
Great Course, mainstay on my list
This isn't the first nor the last time that I will hit around on this course. The staff is always very friendly and the course is in great condition. There is plenty of challenge coming from the overhanging trees and few water features. Forest preserve lines more than a couple of the holes. Challenging for some depending on your swing tendencies. When you get a chance, take a spin on this track.
Beautiful Courses and Lay out
Loved playing 2 of the 3 nine hole courses. The courses were absolutely pristine from the 1st hole to the last. A combination of forgiving and challenging holes making it very fun to play. I think they should combine 2 of the courses to make an 18 hole course and one 9 hole course. There was a lot of confusion with our tee time due to selecting to play 18 wholes. It seemed to confuse the reservation system since the courses are listed as 3 nine hole courses. We prepaid for 18 but the system reserved us for only 9. It happened to multiple reservations and the staff at the Pro Shop handled the situation effortlessly and were able to accomodate us for 18 holes.
Can't wait to play here again!
The greens are pristine and fast
the course is in great shape with fast undulating greens
