Rolling meadows and exquisite hazards
4 stars across the board. Decent course outside of Chicago. Walkable as we’re all dealing with this crisis of no carts. Would play again.
Bad Management / Customer Service
I booked a tee time through golf now and received a confirmation that the round was booked. Upon receiving the confirmation, I tried to call the Waters Edge Golf Course to confirm tee time with them. I call a minimum of 15 times over a 4 day period and even left a couple of voicemails for the course to please confirm tee time was booked. With no return calls or any cancellation emails for my reservation, I assumed that tee time was still valid. Upon showing up for tee time the starter tells me that my tee time is illegal and they would not honor the booking and pointed blame to Golf Now. I asked the starter why they wouldn't have had the decency / customer service to return a phone call, to avoid people from driving over an hour to come play a round of golf. With all the concerns for health of everyone, why would you have more people show up to course if they are not going to be able to play. Upon asking the starter to try and resolve the issue by finding an open tee time for us later in the day he informed us that they were completely booked and could not accommodate us. In trying to find another course to play at we were in the parking lot for 45 minutes at which time there was 1 golfer that teed off during a 45 minute span that we certainly could have been slotted into. For a course to not have the decency to call and inform people during this crisis is a terrible display of customer service and I will never give another dime of my money to this course. I have probably played over 20 rounds of golf at this course and will never go back as this was the last straw in a long outstanding problem of customer service at this course.
Do not use GolfNow during COVID
When I arrived at the course I was told Golfnow had booked "an illegal tee time" according to the course management (their words). Following the IL governor's new guidelines as of course openings on 5/1, tee times are every 15 minutes on the hour for no more than two players at a time. Golfnow booked 1:52 PM, which the course naturally refused to honor since they had no record of it and the time does not conform to their tee sheet schedule. I tried to call Golfnow customer service and was told the wait time was 3 hours. There is no email address anywhere I can find to contact about a refund. In short, during COVID you should contact and book directly with courses. I get Golfnow staff is working from home and cannot answer calls, but there needs to be readily available email address or online refund procedure when they make a mistake like this.
For what it is worth, the Water's Edge course staff was very friendly and as helpful as they could be. They even recommended a nearby course they had heard was not too busy. (I managed to get on there for 9 later in the afternoon).
Waters Edge
Course looks far nicer in the photos. Granted it is just now spring-ish in Chicago, the greens were in terrible shape. Had fun playing though

Course in really poor shape, really slow play and broke carts
Played this course today, the first really nice day off the year. No carts available since they were ask breaking down on random holes and staff was completely unprepared for any golfers, let alone the amount to be expected on a nice weather Sunday. It was a complete meltdown by the staff. The fairways were ok but the greens were an absolute disaster. I could get over this if it wasn’t for the meltdown that occurred at the course due the staff being completely unprepared for a day of golf. I would not recommend this course.

Late winter round
Course was in good shape except for goose droppings. Greens a little slow but rolled true. Great pace of play. Hadn’t played here in a few years but will definitely return.
Thank you so much for your review. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back soon.
Wait until summer to play; Leave to the geese in the Winter.
Greens are not very good condition, but rolled fast.
Good course BUT
The main problem I had with this course was TOO MANY Geese dropping all on the tee boxes thought it had gotten better that’s why I had not played here in over 2 years.
Coming Back Next Year
The only reason I gave the conditions a 4 was because the green were just aerated. But I was informed before hand and other than that it was in great shape. Pace of play was slow. I didn't feel like the course was overly crowded and due to overbooking, we just had bad luck with a slow 4-some 3 groups ahead.
Overall I like this course, the gentlemen in the pro shop were all extremely friendly and the starter. I will be coming back in the spring
Mixed teview
I thought the layout was great and the fairways were in good shape though maybe a little soft. The ball was bouncing too much on the greens for my taste. Lot of ball marks; not sure if management can correct or maybe us players should show more respect. The rough was too high as we spent a lot of time searching for balls that maybe could have been found quicker if the grass was cut shorter. Would I come back? Yes.
Fun challenging course
Course was in great condition but the pace of play was slow.
Slow play
Course it is narrow and pretty tough. The group in front of us was way too slow. Five hour round. No help around at all.
Great Course, some small issues
The course was a ton of fun. Water was in play but not excessive and the tees were a good distance for a not great player like myself. The only problems were that the group in front of us took far too much time in the greens and the greens themselves weren’t in great shape. Still a fun track that I’d recommend to anyone.
Has had lots of play, but in decent shape
Second time playing course, and considering the summer we’ve had, course is in decent shape. Lots of small holes on the greens, wish people would repair the greens before putting. Price range, I’ve played less expensive courses that are comparable. Not sure pace of play, as I’ve been first on the course (5:45 a.m. tee time).
