Just an overall outstanding course for the $$. Super friendly staff in the pro shop and at the halfway house. Will definitely come back to play again. Greens in superb shape as well as the rest of the course!
Interesting layout for creating shots
I was visiting from out of town and had a great day for golf. Pace was a little slow but the course condition and greens we enjoyable to play on.
What a gem!
Living 20 minutes away, I didn’t even know this place existed. When I moved here a few years ago and asked neighbors for the best places to golf, no one mentioned Waters Edge. I will now...or maybe i’ll just keep this to myself. I was go.fing by myself and many of the patrons allowed me to play through, which was awesome.
By the way, if you want local knowledge of the course, visit the friendly starter a little early and he’ll give you some good pointers that probably saved me 5 strokes by listening to him.
Will be going back for sure!
Ball placement course
I enjoyed playing waters edge. I felt like the layout requires that you place the ball in the right spot off the tee. I was a single and the Marshall paired me up with a couple of locals who were really cool. The entire staff I met were very nice and helpful. The course was in good shape even though you could tell it gets a lot of play. Great course for the money.
2 inches of rain
Course was semi flooded after 3 days of rain but it still was very playable. This course is a great value and very well maintained.
Everything Was Great Except ONE Thing.
The day before my foursome's round there was torrential rain that I thought could hinder the quality of play, but the course turned out to be in great shape. Right before our round had started, however, the clouds parted and the sun began to shine to the point where the ground on the back nine was completely dry. As we carted our way to the first hole, we were greeted by the started who was the perfect person to start your round with. He kindly told us what the course was all about. Talked about the hard holes and how we should attack them. Talked about the weather and how we should adjust our game to it. He also mentioned that there is no one in front of us for about 4-holes and no one behind us for 30 minutes. After a 10-minute conversation, he sent us off. The course was wet but definitely playable. The fairways were kept very nicely, and the rough was cut fairly. greens were excellent and very unique on every hole. Be aware, there are a lot of water hazards on a lot of the holes.
The only downside was that we caught up to the group in front of us by the 10th hole, probably due to halfway house goodies. the back nine probably played an hour longer than it should have. Other than that, I enjoyed this course and the people who work here. I'll definitely come back and recommend this to golfers who need a little challenge and to golfers who want a good time.
A little slow but great course
Gameplay was a little slow. We got stuck behind a slow group but the course was in fantastic condition. Will definitely be back.
Course was in great shape!
Enjoy playing Waters Edge. Always a challenge especially if you find yourself off the fairways. That rough can get thick. If you have never played this track you should definitely try it out.
Price
Tee time was 3:12 Friday afternoon for only $27.
Course is in fantastic shape.
Very slow
Get your self ready for a 5 hour round pace of play is very slow
Bad shape, staff even worse
Had an 11am tee time. Arrived to check in and was told there was over an hour delay due to frost. I asked why they couldn't call ahead and the staff said "why would we, we don't have time for that". There were literally 16 people on the first tee box. Absolutely embarrassing. Additionally, they didn't even offer any discounts/free range balls for the inconvenience.
What Happend?
I never ever write course reviews, but this had to be done. This used to be my go to course in the southern burbs. I played couple times last season and it was "alright" The course's greens are always beat up because of the duffers. Now on to this year! I've played here one time when the weather was decent and attended the "Easter Brunch" last weekend. What a disaster this course has become! The Head Older Manager does not know how to speak to customers and is ignorant. The Brunch was horrible and had nothing to drink and food was cold. The building looks horrible from the outside. Luckily for me and my group there are hundreds of courses around that we can play. No sleep lost from not playing here again.
Better yardage markers
This course advertises GPS There was no GPS the course needs to do a better job with yardage markers But a very good course for the money
