Always a FUN TIME !!!
Hey, Feb 18th just outside of Chicago ! Seriously ? U just can't say much negative now ! It was in the sixties ! Wish I coulda shot in the sixties !!! But, no waiting, mild weather, Friendly people and it's February !!!

The worst conditioned course in Illinois
I just don't know whether I have ever played a worse conditioned golf course, ever. This has been a really great year for golf course conditioning in Illinois. We have hit some hot weather lately, but for the most part, courses have held their own this year. Waters Edge is an absolute abomination. At $65.00 plus, it is almost a crime. There are huge barren patches on almost every hole. Hundreds of unprepared ball marks litter the greens. The areas around the greens are half bald patches, and half thick back yard grass. The bankers are okay, but not edged well. This course is pretty challenging. It's tight, but not in a good way, if that makes any sense. Its not built for the 18025 handicap player, yet its maintained like a third rate nine hole muni course, This course is middled in a bad place. They caught me once for the $65.00. Never again.
Bad weather
I have played this course several times in the past but it has been 5 years; so many options in the Chicago suburbs to choose from. The layout is good. We unfortunately only played the 1st hole due to weather; complete wash out. The fairway was in great shape and the rough was thick. 1st green was in amazing shape considering the amount of play the course gets. I know we only played 1 hole so my review is only based on that but I am really writing this review based on staff. Staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and discussed rain policy. We received full rain check for a future date with no restrictions.

Friendly; helpful staff...course was in excellent condition. Better than what I experienced during a recent trip to Florida.

Water's Edge 9/26/15
I've played Water's Edge many times over the years. One of the biggest problems with golf courses today is the lack of enforcement of pace of play. Our tee time was at 9:57am but we did not tee off until 10:20. The round took 5 hrs. I expect that time for twilight round. The course did not have any rangers enforcing the pace of play.

Better than before
I haven't played here in years because the last time I was here the course was in pretty bad shape. Still not worth their regular rack rate but much improved and worth a hot deal. FYI no more gps units on carts.
Great Course
This course is well lsyed out conditions very good. The staff is very friendly. A great experience will play this course again and recommend it to friends
Excellent condition
The course itself is in excellent condition. Greens roll better than most courses in the area. Would have liked to seen the beverage cart out before we finished playing. Otherwise a great value for the cost
Good course
I first played this course when it opened in 1999. It was a jem for a course so close to the city. Then the course went into a severe slump. The tee boxes were awful and the fairways were sparse. After a 5 year hiatus, I played it and found it to be in the best condition I had ever seen. I highly recommend this course.

Great potential!
Course layout offers great potential. Unfortunately, the rough hasn't been mowed in at least 2 weeks (like playing in your back yard) & greens were painfully slow. Traps were in great shape.

Course was nice.... Just poorly organized.
Being 80 degrees in May on a Thursday, one would think your golf course would be busy. So why did the following happen?
1.) driving range was closed until almost 11 am.
2.) maintenance was cutting grass until almost 1 pm.
3.) snack shack was out of sandwiches and brats.
4.) no drink cart (although we were told not to worry, she's out there somewhere.). 4.5 hour round, never once saw her.
I know this seems picky, but this course was fun and challenging. The starter was amazing... Very knowledgable and helpful. Why can't the management team run things better?
I would play this again, by the way.

Due to the unseasonably warm temperatures at the time of your round, we were still in the process of getting fully staffed for peak season. A few good signature holes
I like the course. Staff was a little abrasive. Facilities were adequate. Without discount rate, it's a little harder to justify expense.

Fine spring golf.
As always an enjoyable time. Even though the greens were punched a few weeks ago the course is in very good shape.

Putting on sand
The greens were punched and sanded. It would have been nice to have had fair warning. The halfway house was closed and they didn't have a beverage cart working the course nor water in the coolers. April in Chicago can be an iffy proposition but they weren't close to being ready for the opening of the season.
We understand your frustrations with the aerification process at the course. We do our best to communicate with each guest when are undergoing aerification in addition to offering discounted rates. Destination Kohler - Champions' Trail Golf Package
Couldn't agree more, horrible conditions, horrible pace of play, and they have the audacity to charge 60-70 bucks. Only reason why I comment on terrible courses is to warn other golfers and hopefully the staff reads this and does something about it.
