The course has a good layout. The course is in great shape and greens roll well and pretty fast. Good practice area. Friendly staff.

Great course, greens were a little unforgiving today

my favorite course...beautiful..speed of play good ...under 4 hrs and played behind some foursomes ..we were a twosome ..greens were beautiful

Beautiful course.... outstanding practice area. I played the senior tees and loved the course.

For a public course they take outstanding care of this course and the greens especially. Quick greens but they roll true. No sand and seed in the jugs, but if that’s my only complaint I’d say they’re doing pretty good.

The course was in fantastic shape! The greens were firm and fast! I can’t wait to play it again later this summer.

Wife and I took a two day golf trip down to South Bend from Grand Rapids and I had read about this course so we got a good deal on golf now for 64 bucks for two of us and it was a great value you as a Course is really kind of a neat layout very hilly. They did a lot with a terrain. They’re amazing how you go from flat from Lanta The Hills I guess the course was not built the drain very well. We played in Warren Notre Dame course the next day and I was dry for the most part so I guess the drainage system is no worries. Nearest quality is the course down and Notre Dame Anyway has a lot more scenic value. We actually liked Blackthorn a lot more than Warren him even though we had to walk a lot with cartpath only on Thursday afternoon not November 2, 2023. Wife said the girl in the clubhouse was not very friendly but I didn’t talk to her, so no big deal we started on the back nine for some reason , yeah you tall is very unique. You’re there are some memorable wholesome and the first time ever we drove through an old farmers barn with a golf cart to get to the next hole that was quite unique.

The biggest drawbacks if you don’t have a problem with being too loud is the highway noise of Route 31 and then of course you’re right next to South Bend airport so there’s planes taking off and landing constantly, which actually is kind of unique. It reminds me of the golf course up in Grand Rapids Thornapple pointe Wichita , everybody up here calls it planes, trains, and automobiles so I would assimilate this course to that course.

The course conditions were very good of course with cartpath only you would expect that and it was a very windy day and cool, but we had a great time wife loved it. I liked it we had a good time that’s all that matters when I can drive down there just for that course. No we played a Jack’s course up in Benton Harbor couple years ago in HARBOR SHORES RESORT was a unique experience that’s for sure how he built that course in that city I don’t know but anyway, that was a great deal we scored their two in November so yeah I would recommend playing this course for sure it’s got lotta character it’s got all the challenge you want pick the appropriate tea and at least it’s not got too many cinch wraps like Warren course at Notre Dame, Ben Crenshaw, just threw down a bunch of traps But yeah we like Blackthorn better than Warren so anyway Indiana golf that’s it that’s probably the best we had a good time we stayed we played it’s one and done for us most likely had a good time

They had cartpath only but it was a lot of fun in a very nice layout driving through a barn with a golf cart was the first just a Course doesn’t really drain well we played Warren down by Notre Dame the next day today Friday October, November 3, and that was dry I don’t know what the difference is may be a better drainage system Notre Dame has more money or whatever but anyway we like the Blackthorn better except for all the walking because of the cartpath only but very scenic couldn’t believe we were in Indiana was so hilly we scored a good price of $64 for two of us on GolfNow so I was great value

A very nice N layout with elevation which surprised me. Top ten in state drew us down here from GRapids. Warren tomorrow. Wife and I enjoyed it very scenic just bring ear plugs, highw noise and lots of jets. Reminds me of Thornapple Pointe GR aka planes, trains and automobiles.

Scored a golfnow deal $64 for 2 November 2nd.
