Early Season Review
First round of the year for me and first time at this course. Lucky to join a couple local guys that new the layout.
The practice area is very solid. Large well kept short game area and a good driving range.
The pro shop is nice as is the 19th hole although relatively small.
As a quick foursome we kept pace with the group in front. Never had to wait and the group behind us always seems a full hole back. There were several groups at the first tee lined up though. Not sure why the tee times weren't being followed.
The course still has some dormant areas and the spring mowing schedule hasn't started up for them yet. Bunkers still need freshened up for the season.
The course layout left something to be desired. The terrain they built it on however; forced the design. Several boring holes on the course that don't require imagination or don't have any originality. Several blind tee shots made it very nice having locals with me otherwise it would be tough picking a good landing area. The stretch of Holes 5 - 9 are the best stretch on the course. Well setup, good visuals, and they require some creativity. The rest blend together a bit.
Overall it was a fun round and I'm really interested to see if the course gets spruced up for the spring growing season.
Incredible Improvements
Thanks to Alltech and the great staff this course has improved tremendously since new ownership. Improvements are made day in and day out to help make this one of the nicest courses in central Kentucky.

Excellent value
This course has amazing views and has a variety of challenges based on your skill level. Playing from the white tees eliminates many of the blind shots on the course, but playing back from the blue tees can turn this course into a devil! Great staff and amazing course.

Amazing First Round
The greens and fairways are kept up very well. The tee boxes are
flat with no weeds and the greens are not dry.
The carts are a little slow.

My first time playing the course. Staff greeted me when I walked in the door. Extremely friendly! The course was in great shape and the greens were well maintained. I will definitely be going back!

Interesting layout
Very pleased with course conditions. Fairways and greens were in great shape...kudos to the grounds crew! Drove a little over an hour to get to the course, but it was well worth it. Front nine had basic layout with nice landscaping and trees...back nine was more links style. All in all, very pretty course!

Tough and tight.
Greens were incredibly fast with almost mini-golf type breaks. Pin positions were sometimes one pace from fringe. Out of bounds surrounds most greens. Small hard to hit greens. Very challenging course, but overall great conditions and well set up. Would play again if the opportunity arises.

Great bargain for public course
I have played Connemara three times this summer. It is in excellent condition tee to green and a pleasure to play. A great deal fro anything under $25!

Better than anticipated
Beautiful golf course. The rough was a little deep and I lost a couple of balls in it but over all great conditions here. Played with a couple of locals and had a great time. The clubhouse was fun as well, quite social. Got the hot deal which was a terrific value.

Nice Course with Friendly Service
I played Connemara on July 12th with my wife. The course was in great shape, the lake is beautiful. The par 3 on # 5 is now open, I scored a par, so it was worth waiting for!
I think Connemara is a hidden jewel in the Lexington area. The staff are friendly and they keep the course in great shape. Connemara is an excellent value and I look forward to playing there many times in the future.

Much Improved
It had been several years since I've made a visit out to Connemara and I can hardly believe the improvements. Course conditions are much better than I remember, and they've completely revamped the practice facility to make it wonderful, one of the best in the area easily. They've also torn down the old pro shop building and remodeled the old house on the hill to make it the new Pro Shop and restaurant bar area with a beautiful patio. To top it all off the staff were absolutely wonderful. If it was just a little bit closer to my house I would be out here all the time!

Could Have Been Better
Two really easy fixes by the golf course staff would have improved the golf course condition and it's playability. The tee boxes were not mown, really brought the impression of the golf course down and should have been an automatic maintenance issue done daily, or maybe every other day. There are many blind tee shots - some type of middle fairway marker for direction would have been really helpful for those playing the course for the first time. We liked the challenge this course presented, excellent pro shop, and very nice bar area. They closed the bar area early, we would love to have had an ale to end the day. Also, one of the par 3's was under construction, I assume for improvement.
Great course, great time.
Pace of play was great. The course conditions are great except for #5 being closed for repair, but it has come in nicely since I played it last (several years ago).
I recommend Connemara for all skill levels. The party 5s and part 4s on the back nine are long and present a challenge for any player, regardless of skill.
