Solid course for money
Liked the course, pace of play was sub par. I teed one at 5:30 and got done at 9, Playing by myself. Course is hugged tight balls flying left and right. Greens were great, fairways were great. Water coolers and trash cans on 1 hole per 9. Lots of hills/Blind holes, no bunkers some water. Overall good course lots of fun, Would play again same money.
Not really any fairways but was good for the price. Pretty much rough everywhere.
fun course
I play here some with my son, but it too busy today, two and three groups on every hole, carts and people were everywhere, balls flying all over the place. waited on every shot.
fun course
nice little course fun to play greens were good except #1 fairways good enough, greens were soft,
Looking good
We have had some hot weather but the greens looked pretty good! It’s a nice little course.
Great value
South Wind won’t make your top ten for fairway or greens conditions but what it lacks in perfect fairways and greens is made up by their amazing staff. From the time I arrived, I was greeted with friendly smiles, course advice, and was even given a free water when I attempted to pay for one. While the fairways could have used a cut, the greens did roll very good. Just some rough spots here and there on the greens but nothing out of the ordinary. With the rolling hills, your ball will travel further than expected. And some holes would do you some good to ride up and look at landing areas and greens before hitting your shots if it’s your first time playing. After my round, I had a fantastic beer cheese burger at Howard’s grill. Owner/operator was really down to earth and it felt like a scene in Cheers as regulars started pouring into the grill. I most definitely look forward to coming back to South Wind and I highly recommend giving them a chance for your next round.
Great learner course
Lots of hills and hazards for beginners to learn from they have a full dinner with great food big burgers lots of beer and a awesome community
Love this course!
Nice course, like the layout, very friendly staff!
Great course for the average golfer
Southwind is a great course for those of us that don’t get out that often. There are no sand traps on the course. The yardages are very manageable for most golfers. The only problems are a few holes have water but it shouldn’t be a problem. There are a few blind shots but again it should not be a problem. Overall a great course for the price!
Always good
One of most enjoyable courses to play. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Course is not long but layout is good. Greens roll true. Hole locations can be tricky. Contours in most fairways. Hate the ball below my feet.
Great pace of play
The course had a great pace of play. The staff was friendly. We would golf here agsin.
Southwind
Course was in descent shape consider the weather... pace of play was bad, the booking are too close to each other ...
Green fees
Course was in great shape could use a driving range to loosen up before your round. I like the layout of the course and the challenges it bring on the hidden tee shots on the front and back 9.....
This course was in very good condition
First time out this year and with the weather we've had lately I was quite surprised to find the course in such good condition.
Pace of play was excellent. I will definitely be back.
Golf course?
Very likely the worst place I have ever played golf. No tee box's. You literally tee off for hole 1 two feet away from a truck parked in the parking lot. They suggest that there are fairways. I did not see a fairway all day. It's a goat farm. The bare grass is all you get to chunk your way to a green that is either completely overtaken with root rot or well on it's way. Good luck finding your ball in the "fairway" too. Several shots of ours we could see land and bounce in the lush pastor they consider a fairway, only to never locate said ball in the 6 inch plus tall "fairways". It seems like every other hole is a par 3. Overall, this place is horrible for anyone that is not a beginner. So do yourself a favor and save the time of driving out there and fork up the extra money to play on an actual golf course.
