Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed our Robert Trent Jones-designed course but are sorry to hear that you weren't able to finish your round. Although we didn't hear any complaints about slow play on the day you visited, we do know that we were busy that day. Being cart path-only would definitely contribute to a slower-than-normal round, and although we're not sure when you played, we know that afternoon tee times especially can run a bit more slowly on busy days as any delays tend to build up as the day progresses.Our marshals do monitor play on the course and work to keep the pace moving along, but since we can't keep on eye on every hole all the time, it's certainly possible that some slow-play behavior was missed. If you notice another group doing anything to hold up play, such as hitting more than one ball, please feel free to let a marshal know or, if a marshal isn't around, give us a call in the Golf Shop at 410-641-6057 and we'll send someone out to deal with the situation. Our area has definitely seen a lot of rain lately but our maintenance staff has done a terrific job keeping the course in great shape. We're sorry that you weren't treated to friendlier service during your visit, especially since we pride ourselves on great customer service. We'll continue to work to make sure that all of our guests are made to feel welcome. As you noted, our policy is to pair twosomes with other golfers if there is a request for the tee time, but we don't make that pairing based on personality or ability. Since we don't ask for handicap scores when tee times are booked we actually have no way of knowing what any individual golfer is apt to shoot and always hope that paired twosomes will enjoy the opportunity to play with someone new. Since you're in the area for the season, we hope you'll have many more opportunities to golf Ocean Pines! Thanks again!

We do not allow groups of 5, but sometimes golfers try to work their way around that rule. If our marshals see a group of five playing together they will break them up, but unfortunately we can't monitor all holes at all times. Thank you so much for sharing feedback about your experience at Ocean Pines. We're sorry that you found the rough to be too high when you played. As you probably know, this spring has been an incredibly wet one, and massive rainfall amounts have put us somewhat behind when it comes to mowing. Additionally, the rain has made the grass grown especially fast. We usually try to focus on greens, fairways and tee boxes first and can only imagine that other courses in the area might be doing the same. We think that our Robert Trent Jones-designed course is challenging but fair, and we always encourage guests to play from the set of tees that will make their round the most fun, which is the most important part! The course truly is in fantastic condition right now, so we do hope you'll come back and give us another try. Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're truly sorry that your round at Ocean Pines wasn't exceptional and that you experienced particularly slow play. This is our busiest time of the year, and even with the best efforts of our marshalls, play does sometimes get backed up. Our usual pace of play is 4 1/2 hours, and on a very busy day when we have back-to-back tee times the pace can be greater than that. Please know that we take comments such as yours seriously and are constantly evaluating how we can improve our day-to-day performance. The golf season is just beginning, so we hope you'll come back soon and give us another try!

The Friday you played was a beautiful, warm, sunny day – the first in a long time - which meant that our tee sheet was especially packed. Because you had only booked a twosome, we received another reservation for the remaining two slots at that time. Additionally, our policy dictates that rounds booked with third-party agencies must be played at the time reserved, so we weren’t able to send you out earlier. Of course, when tee times are booked we have no way of knowing the players’ abilities, but we generally find that most golfers still have an enjoyable time regardless of whom they’re paired with. We do hope you’ll consider giving Ocean Pines another try despite your experience with the particular twosome you played with and that you’ll reach out to us if there’s anything else we could do to meet your expectations.
