Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

My love hate relationship with Eastmoreland
I live fairly close to Eastmoreland, the staff is always great and I go over there to hit often or use the chipping and putting area.
I always feel like I can go out and hang a number at Eastmoreland, I know the course fairly well and have played it often but each and every time something jumps up and bites me.
Eastmoreland's trees and at times quirky layout makes you have to think. You can't rip the ball two fairways over and have a shot. The doglegs lend themselves to aggressive shop shaping where you can really benefit from a solid drive.
It's not overly long even from the blues, you can keep the driver in the bag most of the day.
Slow play
Early afternoon tee time. waited for group in front to clear #1 before teeing off and still spent the day hitting and waiting
Course conditions were very good....
Pace of play. sucked
First Time
Staff were friendly,, fairways were soaked, playing partners were nice. will probably play again.
Great job Eastmoreland
Starting off on Hole 10 has been fun! It was the original Hole one so history has come full circle. Playing Hole one as ten is harder than usual. The greens are amazing. Great job grounds crew!
Super-packed good course
Lynn (the starter) was great to chat with while waiting to tee-off and gave some good course tips. Course was in great shape but it was packed and the back-9 was super-slow...ended up finishing near dark.
Oregon High
For a Floridian, this course was SO fun.
Undulating greens and hilly fairways were a blast.
Easy course to walk.
Above average muni
Been playing here for years and it is always a test. For as much play as it gets the staff keep it in good shape. The greens never disappoint and always challenge.
Good day but why switch the nine's?
10 was 1 and 1 became 10. Made transition from 9 to 10 long and after 18 long walk past the car back to the clubhouse for a beverage. VERY confusing! After that all in all a good day
Great City Golf Course
Eastmoreland is one of the best Portland city courses to play. The greens are true and roll pretty quickly. Every type of hazard comes into play. The front is longer with a few dog legs, fairly straightforward. Lush fairways lined with large trees. This course really shows a lot of character on the back 9, with some elevated tee shots as well as some demanding carries. Eastmoreland offers a lot of very unique holes to smash that ball around with some great sights to see. Chipping and putting area is good size, range is slightly smaller due to old architecture design. There is a lot to appreciate at this old city course. I would highly recommend Eastmoreland to any golfer.
Challenging course as far as layout
Greens were in immaculate condition but pin positions felt like we were Sunday at the Masters and the greens were rolling super fast. Course drains ok, soggy spots even though it hasn’t rained. All in all a good bang for buck round. Bring extra balls.
