Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

Everything from when we first checked in to when we left the course was great. When we stepped on to the first tee, we had an unexpected treat and that was the marshal and that was "Tim". He was a breath of fresh air and we thoroughly enjoyed his personality.
The course was great and the entire Eastmoreland's staff made our day very enjoyable. Thank you for allowing us to play your course.
Good ol eastmoreland!
Great course when you cant find any other tee times.
So many trees in the way of the fairy way seems difficult and annoying at the same time. Cute beer girls and ugly range balls.
Get some
Magnificent conditions! Course is rolling really fast from tee-to-green .Beautiful true greens and a wonderful atmosphere. Really love the rhododendron garden!
Golf locally
Pin placement was in non traditional spots that I have not seen before, making it more interesting and difficult. Fairways were great and overall condition is great for a much played public course.
Great Value
I love this track because it’s challenging, in great condition, and very affordable.
The course needs a lot of work. Remove tons of dead trees. Limb remaining trees and open up the course
Great location. Very poor maintenance and esp in need of deferred maintenance. Greens are good though.
Bad experience
Had a disagreement about carts with the pro shop, and they apparently didn’t like it, had the marshal follow us around to tell us to keep up with play. We were behind once and let a group through. Left after 9, I’ll never go back.
Poor and unfriendly staff
Booked our tee time for 4. Myself, my son, a friend and his son. I have played several munis amidst the Corona era. There are some restrictions. I went to pay for my round and cart, and was told we couldn't share(my son and I, he's 12). I told them that because we live in the same house and don't need to practice social distancing, we would just ride in the same cart. I told them that is what I wanted to pay for. They then said that no course in the Portland area was allowing riders in the same cart, even among same house or family. This is incorrect, and makes no sense. They dug in while I dug in, and ended up not seeing eye to eye. I asked if we could get push carts comped since I wanted to ride but they wouldn't allow it. They accused me of trying to get free stuff. I said nope, just trying to make a bad situation a little better. They finally agreed and shoved the handles for the carts through the pass through window. A bit rude, but I said thanks and went on my way. Teed off, with one group behind. They quickly caught up to us, and on hole 3 we let them through. This was after 2 chats with a marshal about slow play. We told him we'd pick it up or let groups through. After we let the first group through, there were no more groups that were close to us. Every hole on the front nine, hole 4 twice we were talked to, and told that we needed to pick up the balls of our kids and go quicker. I started realizing that the clubhouse warned him about us, and was upset about our conversation earlier about the carts. I brought it up, and told him that we were not playing slow enough to have a marshal follow us on each hole. Again, nobody was even within a hole of us until hole 7, and we were still not making them wait. He warned us again, and that's when I was done. I told him that I didn't appreciate him following us, and we wouldn't be picking up any balls, and to stop talking to us. At that point I said to him that we would be stopping at 9 holes because of it being a terrible experience and making our time there very frustrating. He told me that he was just following what he was hearing from the clubhouse, and doing what he was told.
Please, don't go to this course, I have zero power, I get it, but I can't believe this is how they run things. I'll never go back, I've never been treated like that at a course.
Early June beautiful day.
I played at the Reserve a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was in great condition. Well for a much used public course Eastmoreland is in fantastic condition! The fairways have few weeks and the greens were great. Thank you so much for a great time!
great value for a muni inner-city course
beautifully maintain, tall trees, cathedral golf, with fun and challenging greens. this course has it all. if you live in portland you should be playing this course. if you're visiting, this is always challenging and when things are back to normal they have a great bar/restaurant. the staff is the best around, bar, pro shop and marshals. don't miss out.
Terrific service!
The pair I was supposed to play with wasn't there so they matched my small bucket so I could keep warming up and join another group 20 minds later... thank you reading my mind and taking care of me! Great job Eastmoreland team!
