Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

great value, easy access, tough golf

Eastmoreland is over a 100 years old. this is unique in the NW. this gives it the added value of maturity in it's layout. this is not a long course but the narrow treelined fairways and difficult greens make it one of the most challenging courses in the Portland Metro area. the staff is great and the bar is exceptional :) enjoy, Mike-

Great layout and great value

Eastmoreland is possibly the most challenging public course in The Portland area. In my opinion, the only course that is as difficult or possibly more difficult is The Great Blue Course at Heron Lakes. You have to be accurate off the tee and second shots are no bargain either. Most holes play longer than their yardage. The greens are plenty big and very fair but positioning your ball in the right place is still important to shooting a good score.

Needs maintenance and upkeep

Tough track. Lots of shade so grass isn’t in good shape. Too much mud on fairways and greens weren’t in good shape. Lots of divots and dead spots. No beverage cart on a Saturday.

Slow.......

There was a group immediately in front of us that were extremely slow. (Looked like they had a beginner or two). With no one in front of them, they never let us play through. Meanwhile the group behind us, started hitting balls into our group while we were waiting. No marshall to be found. Pretty crappy experience. Will never play again.

A country club of the rest of. us

Have been playing Eastmoreland since the early 80's. It is an excellent course at a low rate in the center of the city.

The course is quite challenging with lots of water, bunkers, a good variety of length and beautiful vistas. Yet provides opportunities for all levels of golfers. I started playing here at the beginning of my golf journey and have always enjoyed walking and playing the course.

The greens right now are in outstanding shape and present many challenges but are fair and consistent.

Play can slow during heavy use times but the starters work with groups and singles in getting you slotted into the schedule.

Great Value (even for a Muni)

The course has unique holes, and can make you use every club in the bag. 13 is a par 5 with a forced carry 2nd shot, that Eastmoreland is known for— and 17 is about as close to an island green as you’ll get in Portland.

My round on 7/4/19 was less than 4.5hrs and never really had long wait times on the tee boxes. You will score well if your a straight hitter, and if your not, you’ll perfect your recovery shots by the end of the round.

This is a very good municipal course.

Keep it up.

It’s great to see the clubhouse roof power wash after too long a time of not doing it. The turf is in great shape, greens rolled well but where a tad slow. Lots of course maintenance happening, also great to see. It would have been nice to see a refreshment cart and a few more water stations available but not a deal breaker. This is a gem of a course and a pleasure to play. Rivals most private courses in Portland and a very reasonable price.
