Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

Great Staff
Nicest staff of any pro shop in the Portland area. Course was in good shape but finding your golf ball under piles of leaves on the fairway was a bit of a challenge.
Great hot deal
I have played here a few times and really enjoy this course. The front 9 holes start out bland, but that is a good thing to warm up to. The back 9 challenges you more and makes you place your shots. This is not just a drive and wedge course. It makes you think about where to hit and what to hit. Grab this on a hot deal and it's a steal.
Wonderful experience
Great walking course. Beautiful tree lined fairways. Friendly staff.
Nothing special
Nothing special. Front 9 is pretty boring. The back 9 has more variety and is a little prettier, but also has some weird holes. Other courses in the area are much nicer for the same price. And they charge $18 per person here for a cart!!! 18 bucks?!! REALLY???!!!!
Summer time play in fall
For the amount this course is played it is in great condition. Not enough poeople fill their divots and that is not the fault of the course, just an etiquette thing.
Family time in Portland
Gorgeous day...Mother Nature provided a day with mild temps while playing the 3rd oldest golf venue in the beautiful state of Oregon...wonderful day on the links!
Interesting layout
First time playing so my car's GPS had me park at the auxiliary lot. Layout wasn't bad... however after finishing #13, there were no signs directing you to #14. It took a minute before I realized you take the public sidewalk next to the roadway outside of the fence to find the next hole. A sign would be a big help. Greens were a little on the slow side but it was drizzling during my round. Predominantly par 4s and only a couple 3s.
Bonding time
Got out before 7 AM on a beautiful morning. Course was empty, in great shape, except for the divots that people still don't stop to replace. Everything was perfect. Son in law and I golfed one of our best rounds together, thanks Eastmoreland!
Two first-timers. Had a great round.
Was paired with another first time player. Beautiful course in the early morning. Holle #14 a bit confusing in that you have to walk outside the course and down a city sidewalk a bit. They could have used a bit more markings along the way.
Greens were the most challenging. A good handful of shorter par 4's and longer par 3's.
Eastmoreland GolfNow Booking
Having used GolfNow frequently, I was surprised to see a tee-time change notification from 10:50 AM to 11:41 AM. I did not see the email notification until after the round was played. Had we chosen to walk, the additional heat later in the day may have been challenging, but as a cart golf round, the weather was perfect and the delay afforded us time for a warm-up bucket and some short-game practice before teeing off.
Eastmoreland, is still ranked highly on national public course list, has hosted hosted two USGA Public Links Championships and has been home of the annual Portland City Golf Championship. Adjacent to water hazards and the International Rhododendron Test Gardens, the back-nine in particular, is as beautiful as it is challenging.
9 holes
Our first time
Very pleased
Pro shop staff cooperative and friendly
Wanted to play the back 9 but they were too busy
Will certainly return!
Their pricing structure confusing to me but GolfNow eliminates that!
Course in great condition
Several course marshals driving around.. friendly
Great course for the money
Absolutely loved playing this course this morning. It is in great shape and the layout is different than most layouts. The greens are not too fast but a little faster than average for a municipal course. There are a lot of trees so you need to drive it straight. The bunkers can use some more sand but they are easy enough to avoid if you want to. Definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a great course to play.
Course
Course was a lot nicer then it was about 2 years ago. Greens were nice and pretty fast, fairways were nice, and staff was super friendly. Only thing that I hated and cant stand but it's all over was the fact that the greens were littered with divits and ball Mark's. I know that's no fault of the course staff but it's really annoying having to fix 12 divits in your line before you try and putt. Other then that the course was amazing and I will for sure be playing there again!!
Grand old course
It’s in great shape. The only issue, and it’s not a deal breaker, is the goose poop on a couple of the holes on the back nine
Maybe they can get some of those plywood coyotes to scare them away. Evidently Nike uses them on their grounds with success and moves them around every few days so the look doesn’t get “stale”
