The course is in terrible condition!
Fairways are diseased and filled with crabgrass. Many bald spots on the fairways and on many tee boxes. The greens were not cut and untamed. Very disappointed. Marlton does have a nice driving range...when it is open.
Very enjoyable round.
Started at 1:00 on a Tuesday. Great staff. Good course for mid skill level golfers (we are 25 handicappers)
This course is poorly maintained, and worth only 1/4 of asking greens fee.
I played the front nine twice because the back nine was worse. 5 of the 9 tee boxes were in horrible shape and many fairways need serious work. After one of the wettest summers in this region in years, I am shocked by how bad this course is.
Not a badd track
While putting on my shoes in the parking lot; I was invited by a 3 ball to join. One of the group had good course knowledge. he playing experience was nice and I played boogie golf. The par 3s were nice and attackable. I parred all of them. Fairways need attention and some of the tee boxes were terrible. Mostly just mud with some grass thrown in. A good trac, that I would play again, I was told to play it when golf season opens because then the course is pristine.
Needs Some TLC
Got it for a $20 deal. Couple of issues come to mind albiet not the courses fault was # 10 green was being redone due to some idiot went four wheeling so the hole had a temp green.[looks good so should be ready in a week or so] Course overall had a nice layout and was fun to play although it could be at least another five hundred yards longer.[only about 6200yds] Greens were a tad slow but very puttable.[Rolled nicely] The rest of the course just needs some Tlc, but for $20 bucs i'll play it again. Pro new who i was walking in the door, and it was my first time there.[had my printout in hand] Very attentive and happy to serve. His attitude alone was worth the $20. Would have given a 5. But like i said, just some xtra TLC for the course maintenece.
Uncut Diamond in the rough
The biggest challenge I had was getting to this course. The map location GolfNow was given is not actuate. This is the best way to get to the course is off of 301.
Turn at the light onto Old Indian Head Road, bear left at the fork onto Duley Station Road, and make a left at stop sign. Make first left at Wallace Lane (hard bend in road), go 1/4 mile to stone pillars on right.
Once there I was over joyed to see they had a grass driving range a bucket was included with my greens fees but the range prices were a value.
I had a great time playing this course. There are 2 par 3's over water, daunting but aesthetically pleasing. It had a surprising amount of elevation change for a Washington DC golf course.
The course has a lot of potential, there were numerous greens keepers out so they are addressing some of the tee box issues.
Maintenence needed
Greens and some Tee-boxes in good condition. However fairways were very sketchy, to say the least. Along with Hole 10 being down for green reconstruction. Looks to be almost complete though. It looks as of they are getting course back into shape, but alot of attention needed to the fairways.
The course has a decent layout
The course is in terrible shape . Only grass left in fairways is weeds. Greens do not roll well. Guy at the front desk seemed a little put out to help.
Grass not cut bunkers horrible
Title says it all. Course was in need off attention one hole had a temp. Green which they did not tell us about at the club house.
grass need cutting couldnt see ball in fairlane
grass need cutting couldn't see ball in fairlane.. but golf course was ok
The staff is very friendly. The course is in good shape

Course Conditions and Facilities Are In Need of Repair
The morning started off with me being warned not to take a certain golf cart (which had been put out for course patrons) because it had faulty brakes. I was greatful for the warning. However, I cannot help but wonder why it was staged for my fellow course patrons.
On this day, hole #10 was closed because it was damaged due to vandalism. It looked like they had just layed new sod, so my group of 3 end up playing hole #1 again to round out 18. Several holes had severe erosion towards the creek area. There were at least three areas where the cart path had washed out. Overall conditions on the greens were inconsistent, some bald... For the price with cart, even at $52, this course needs significant improvement. You can find better in the immediate area.
The clubhouse isn't fancy, but the men's room is dated and seems to have had the same stall out-of-order for a while now.
Good course for the money!
Up and down narrow fairway! No 10 hole was under construction.
Just as bad as the last time I played there.
I found a hot deal that ended up costing us $25/person and was fighting to decide if that was a good deal once we finished the round. Course was under maintained and the greens were slow. We decided to grab a sandwich at the turn and after we noticed a couple signs informing us to keep our turn time to under 5 mins wondered why our sandwiches took more than 10 minutes to make (pre-made chicken salad). However, we played through our round without even seeing another golfer on the course so atleast we didn't have anything slowing us down.
Solid Course for the Cost
Has a difficult tight layout, challenges off the tee and offers a variety of different shots. Greens were average to challenging. Really enjoyed my round.
The front nine was very well maintained and presented a challenge
The front nine holes were very well maintained and presented a challenge. The back nine still had characteristic of the cow pasture it use to be. Several holes were under repair and others the fairway and the rough were indistinguishable. All things considered the staff made it a very nice outing. Can't wait until when the back and front are consistent. I will definitely be back. Great value for the money.
Nice casual course
Nice course with nice people...course was in decent shape
Nice Track, Needs some TLC
Played on 5/23 at 11am with my dad. Overall, I like this course and have played it many times. The staff is friendly and service-oriented. The food is typical low-end golf munchies. The practice facility has great potential with grass tees, putting & chipping greens. Unfortunately, the range was not maintained, i.e weeds and tall grass on the range and the tee boxes were unusable.
That brings me to the course itself. It's a nice layout and mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s. Many doglegs to negotiate and plenty of woods to snag errant tee shots. Bring enough balls if you're a 90s player.
The pace of play was horrific. There was a 4-some in front of us that literally took 20 mins / hole. We doubled back to replay hole #7 2x and still caught them at #9. Not a ranger in sight.
The maintenance of the course is really lacking as well. A couple of the fairways had not been mowed in at least 4-5 days. The grass was over ankle high. The greens were well cut but had quote a few sandy/dead spots. It appears they aerated about 3-weeks ago and rolled well for the most part. I managed to stay out of the bunkers but they looked decent. There were, however, many "under repair" and looked like they had been that way for months, i.e. grass growing in them, etc. The tee boxes were immaculate.
Hope this helps. I gave it 2 stars but have played it at a 4-star level in the past. I believe the problem with this course to be management-related as it's quality has wavered from month-to-month / year-to-year in the past.
This course was fun
We didn't run into any issues. Areas of the course could have used a little touch-up maintenance, but overall the course looks nice. The staff was excellent!
Great people; must be a poor grounds crew
Great course layout. Great, friendly staff. Nice to see both a score card and a detailed hole-by-hole course guide in the cart. Driving range is in poor condition - needs new balls and mats. Did get a free bucket with my booking. The course looks like it has not been seeded at all in the past 5 years. Many of the greens have numerous small burned out or bare dirt patches but there are major issues on the fairways. Some are ALL divots and weeds, especially #1 and #16. Not bent grass greens, and these greens are long and VERY slow and bumpy. Do putt true to reads, though. It looks like the aeration marks from last Fall never healed. This course needs some serious TLC, but again, I had a lot of fun. Blasted one drive 300 yards downhill on a 370 yard par four, then 290 yards slightly uphill on the next tee.
FYI, the small spruce trees mark 150 yards to the center of the greens, and the signage is fine, for the most part.
