Course needs work
Have played here for years, course is always in need of work, but it is inexpensive and does have good rates for military and public service.
Great place to play fora challenging round.
Marlton is great place to play. The course is challenging and well maintained. The staff is friendly and pace of play is pretty good. It's not a long course so if you're a big bomber you might not enjoy it as much.
I usually play there on an afternoon weekend and have never found the course crowded.
The rates are pretty good for a public course and you can find some good deals if you sign up for their email newsletter.
Looking forward to playing there again soon.
Cramped, failed to impress, no maintenance!
Not sure if its just because it's the off season still or what. The course was in terrible condition, the greens were just aerated a couple days prior but it felt like I was putting on a beach way to much sand. Fairways were fair still pretty difficult to make solid contact. Some tee boxes were none existent divots everywhere and dead grass. I used all of the carts divot mix trying to fix some of the bad divots since the pace of play was gruesome because of a six-some in front who had NO etiquette. Other than that the staff in the morning was VERY friendly and helpful which is the only positive thing I can say about this course.
Just a forewarning if you cant control your drives or irons watch out. This course is built right through a couple neighborhoods. From the course you can literally walk into peoples backyards.
nice course with good layout
This course was in GOOD shape, especially for this time of year. Has some tight fairwayed holes and some wide-open,get-with-it holes.Having Air Force One fly overhead is an added bonus here. I would have loved to finish, but only got 14 holes in 3 hours. This was due entirely to SLOW golfers with no sense of pace. That's the only thing this course lacks,a marshall. I will play here again someday,it's worth it.
Stay home!!!
Under "Course condition", I put "Requires attention" because there's no option for "extremely bad ". The fairways were bad, the only other course I played that holds a candle to this course in being terrible is Limerick golf course in PA. This was simply bad. You're better off going to a range, or staying home with your girlfriend/wife/pet/kids/mom...whatever, just stay home.
The only positive note here was the gentleman and lady who worked there, nice folks. He gave free range balls for warming up.
Hit or miss course
I played the course on 09/20 and it was in great condition. I come back a week later and it's terrible. Our foursome was scheduled to tee off 3 minutes before a shotgun start tournament. We were rushed the entire round because of the best ball tournament format. The 15th hole fairway looked like it had a tractor pull race on it. It was not worth the $42.
A week earlier, we played there for $15 and it was a spectacular experience. I will go back again, simply because the course is close and usually affordable. But I was sorely disappointed this week.
Great quality course for the price, excellent customer service and value.
The greens were in nice shape for off season. I wish the grass range was available for warm up. Course was not too crowded as I teed at noon and sailed through the round with no waiting.
good experience
Super friendly people and a golf course with really challenging holes overall really good experience
Great value and good challenge for the average golfer.
Course for the most part was in good shape. Some disrepair on on 1-2 greens. Nice layout, good course to work on your iron game.
Some Unique challenges
Hilly nature of the course presents a challenge. On the day I played there was a frost delay hence the slow pace. Staff made accommodation with a shot gun start. Great value for the money.
The course requires you to play different clubs.
Veteran's Day specials and great weather brought out a large number of golfers and golfer wannabees. This contributed to the slower pace of play but who cares. When you have the opportunity to be outside on a great day playing golf, pace of play really doesn't matter. The conditions were good for this time of year and I had a very enjoyable experience.
Course showed signs of summer and aeration, but was overall very enjoyable
I played this course right after they aerated some of the fairways, and i think they should have done a better job of clearing the debris from Aeration. All in All, I thought it was a good play, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Has so much potential
Had to play the front 9 twice because they were revamping the back. The greens weren't bad but the fairways had lots of bald spots where u were just hitting off dirt...but the scenery was great! A lot of elevated boxes so your tee shot just goes and goes, I got on the green in one twice from a par 4 of 314 yards because of it. Lots of hills and embankments so a stray shot can easily kick into the fairway...when they are done renovating I will play it again and it should be a lot of fun. My little girl was riding with so all the wildlife was great as well...
I play weekly
The course needs some work due to the weather. Hole 2 is great over water par 3. I like everything about the course but the crowd on the weekend
The course was in very bad shape
This is an interesting layout with several tight fairways and a couple that are wide open. With modest size greens the course requires precise shots off the tee as well as approach shots onto the greens.
The course was in terrible shape with large portions of the fairways and some portions of greens without grass and little evidence of any repair work underway.
Poor condition
A very interesting layout, but the course is in terrible shape: tee boxes are mostly barren dirt or mud; fairways have enormous patches of dead grass; greens have weeds and other obstacles. Would be a great course if it was overhauled and carefully maintained.
Good layout but course needs attention.
I played this course on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively quiet. Which was nice. But after I finished the round I could see why. I paid only $30 on GolfNow's hot deal's, but I felt even this was a little expensive for the condition of the course. The tee boxes need some serious attention. They were patchy and uneven at best. The fairway's and course in general was extremely dry and it didn't look like they had had water in months. The greens had apparently been aerated two weeks prior but were still terrible shape. Putting was pointless. As was playing out of the bunker. They were like concrete. The course layout was actually quite good and they had some challenging holes that made you think, so I think it has potential, with a little tlc. But otherwise it was a forgettable round.
