About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

The improvement continues
Course looks great and you can tell the work that is being put into it.
bad policies
unwilling to be flexible to accommodate dad and three teenage children on father day. My daughter forgot her license and they made the kids walk. THey have never played golf before. The carts were a selling point... also strict no alcohol policies seems unusually harsh... I'm not a big drinker but when the starter is checking bags and coolers... its very odd. Maybe they had issues in the past but they really blew an opportunity for my kids to enjoy the game... funny part is my daughters BF played the same course at the same time... He had a cart and he's younger than my daughter...
Father’s Day outing
We enjoyed the round, the course was in great condition. The greens were fast and true. Some of the bunkers were not so great. I would definitely recommend the course to others.

Good Value
Played on a Sunday afternoon. Took about 4:20 to play which I have no issue with on a weekend but felt slower due to the waiting. The pin placement on 3 was unplayable, you must be below the pin in it's a front pin. Otherwise I was very happy with the course. They added GPS to the carts which is a nice touch.

Worth playing a second time for sure
Apparently a little rain produces a thick rough. It's a very fair course, and the lines are mostly there for you to see. Few forced carries unless you are approaching from off line. There is a fair bit of contour to the greens, which I've lost the ability to read since moving to Florida, so I was over borrowing on several holes and wound up with 3 putts (which I deserved). A beautiful location. Course staff were very helpful and friendly.

My place
I play this course a lot. The value is great. Pace of play is incredible. I live about 45 minutes away and love to drive here and play. County courses are taking our money to play there. The "Valley" is good for me. Wish I loved closer, but I'm good traveling and saving almost $45.
Pleasant day on the golf course
Golf course was in great shape, we have had a tremendous amount of rain over the last couple of weeks and the course looks great. We had a bit of a wait on 10 because of groups stopping at the turn. Other than that, great day of golf, green fairways and true rolling greens. (A bit slow) . Not much more to be desired, definitely enjoyed it.

Fairways could have been mowed a little tighter, but they were in good shape. Liked the rough, was challenging, most areas difficult to use fairway woods as it should be. Greens were in good shape and consistent throughout the course.
Golf after two months off
Decided to take advantage of the Golfnow Hot Deals. The golf course condition has improved a lot. It's still early in the season. Saw a few ball marks on the green not repaired and divots on the fairways. If those non golfers DO NOT take care the course, it will be bad into the season. Also the management needs to fill up those sand containers on the cart if they want us to fill the divots. The pace on my play wasn't that good. This is Friday afternoon.
