About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Worst conditions
The course hasn’t seen a mower in a while. I literally almost lost a ball in the tall grass in the middle of the fairway. The pace is slow. No marshaling. Got range balls, then got called to the first tee 10 minutes early and didn’t get to hit them. I could whine for another hour. I’ll try again in a few years. This was a big fat zero.

Outing on a Saturday
Had a 6:40am tee time on a Saturday morning. Made the turn and they had an outing starting on the back nine with two foursomes on every hole. Walked off the course. No notice of the outing when booking the tee time or when I checked in. Would have gone elsewhere if I knew. Tee time was a hot deal so no partial refund offered. Course is normally a fun and well paced round. Will be hesitant to play again knowing they are open to having outings booked on an in season weekend morning.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. As you stated you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a refund. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.

The course plays a little long from the whites but is fair.
While this was not the first time I`ve played Glade Valley I continue to enjoy the course as much as my previous rounds. Since I live approximately 1hour and 10 minutes away (without traffic) I don`t play the course more than a couple of times a year. There are lots of courses closer than Glade Valley but their value isn`t worth the drive. The course was in very good shape and I1ll be back later on this year.

Fun course
Fun course to play, and challenging at times. Starter did not pair up any twosomes into foursomes, which limited our play to 11 holes of the 18 we intended to play. Overall, course conditions were good, and the carts were average, but in good shape. Would try the course again, if in the area. Good value for the cost.

We got done 9 holes and started the back 9 and rain let loose. lol Great course and staff is awesome.
We got all 18 in but back 9 was soggy.

First time here and plan to return!
Due to waiting for the covid vaccine this was my first time on the course and golf for 2021. No waiting on the tee boxes or holes for anyone and the course was in good shape. If you miss the fairway the rough is playable.
Also the holes are wide enough so an errant shot can be recovered. I like the layout. Not that challenging but fun. Also the greens are very fair. Not slow or fast or have any real slopes. They are large and maybe it’s a ball or two break on each.
Will return here again.

Course was extremely playable for average golfer as well as walkable, mostly flat. Greens in really good shape even after heavy rain the night before. Overall pace of play a little slow but to be expected for holiday weekend.
