Glade Valley Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Great course at a reasonable price!
Course was in great condition .
Hadn’t played here in 23 years but will definitely be back.
Enjoyable and relaxing round.
Tee boxes need work
Some Tee boxes had very little grass. 1 it was very hard to get a Tee in the ground
Golf on a Beautiful Day
We decided to golf at 4PM til 8. The weather was so perfect and pace of play was smooth.
The guy in the pro shop was very friendly. We really like this course.
Nice place to go
First time here and I absolutely loved it! Had an amazing round of golf — definitely a place I’d love to come back to with friends
Staff is super friendly!
Great course and prices! Mixed drinks are only $7 and domestic beers are $4!
Slow pace to start, well kept course, slow greens!
For the money, Glade Valley did not disappoint. The fairways were real and the cuts around each green actually had levels of grass that allowed for all types of short game work. My only critique is that the greens were very slow. The greens were very accepting of iron play but when it came to putting we had to work very hard to get the ball to the hole and made a lot more three putts than we are used to at other courses.
They found my S-club...then gave it to someone else.
Dear Manager,Sheron
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding a lost item that was mishandled at your facility.
I visited Glade Vale Golf Course on jun,25 and unfortunately lost my sand wedge that day. I called multiple times afterward and left my name and phone number with your staff in case it was found. Every time I followed up, I was told it hadn’t been located.
However, during a phone call on July 1, I spoke with a male staff member who informed me that the sand wedge had been found and that I could come pick it up. I confirmed that it was mine by providing my name and phone number, and I told him I would come to retrieve it within 10 days. Accordingly, I visited the course on July 10.
To my great disappointment, no one at the facility seemed to know anything about the sand wedge. I was told by staff that there was no record or information about it. This was extremely frustrating and felt very irresponsible, especially after I had been specifically told the club had been found.
I would like to request a proper explanation and accountability for this situation. I also ask that this issue be escalated to the manager’s attention, as I believe it was not handled professionally. I trusted your staff and followed instructions, only to be met with confusion and no resolution.
Slow Pace of Play
Pace of Play was very slow. Back up started at Hole 4 and continued through rest of holes. By Hole 9, there were 3 groups waiting at tee box to tee off! While the Ranger came out to investigate, he did nothing to help speed up pace of play. The course was in decent condition given the recent hot weather followed by downpours and thunderstorms. Greens were in good conditions because they don't shave them down during the heat so they are much slower than they look. Overall the golf was fine, but the pace of play will probably keep me away for a bit.
The starter was rude and unprofessional
I love playing this course. It’s beautiful in every way. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with an extremely rude started. Dark hair glasses probably early 20s. Our tee time was at 9:40. We pulled up to starter at 940 ready to tee off. We told the starter our tee time and he told us we missed it. He had a group teeing off already. We asked why are you sending them it’s 940 and we’re in time. He said his watch had 942 and we were late. We could either lose our round and go home or catch up and skip some holes. He then said well you can just leave I don’t have to honor your tee time. So we skip hole one and caught up with the duo. When we got there we told them what happened. They said he sent them out 6 minutes early because they were in a hurry. That right there is totally unacceptable. We were in time he sent our group early without warning. Completely unprofessional with his attitude. This kid should be fired. Golf is a gentleman’s game and this kid acted like a punk. I will still play the course because it’s beautiful but that kid should be fired!!!
Drinks
Need to get Truilly or White Claw seltzers.
