Wild Laurel Golf Course

Honestly I like this course. It was just in such poor shape this time. Many of the greens were 50-80% dead, rock hard, and generally in very poor condition. The tee boxes were also so hard we had to try several spots just to get a tee in the ground.

I was just completely disappointed in the conditions.

The bar is fantastic with amazing views of the Smokies. Staff was friendly. Some great spots to visit in Townsend.

The greens are in terrible condition with some approaching 50% no grass. The bunkers looked like they had not been worked in a month. This course has beautiful scenery, but the conditions overpower them.

The fairways were ok the greens were bad. The grass on the greens were dying. Also the bugs were really bad.

I love this course. However, it was in rough this time. The greens were in pretty bad shape. Also, golf shop attendant was not too responsive at check-in. I had to wait for them to load the drink machine and get candy from the storage closet. Then they we just not to friendly, like I was bothering them. Based upon the green conditions and staff, I paid too much to play the course.

It’s a trek. Worth it though. All around great vibe and recommendation. Only odd thing that happened whole day was ranger scoping us out like a stalker for about two holes and we weren’t doing anything odd or bad at any point.

Course was average. To much grass clippings piling up so made it difficult to find ball in middle of fairway. Some of the greens were missing grass!

I’ve been playing here for four years. It’s a bit ragged right now. Long fairway grass, longer than usual rough grass. Greens are very patchy with crabgrass on some. Traps are terrible. Needs some attention for sure

Really nice location with an incredible clubhouse. Staff were friendly and there was no issue playing quickly at the course. The problem lies with the course. Tee boxes hadn't been mowed in a while (could be a rain issue) fairways were thick and rough definitely was rough. Unfortunately the worst part were the greens. Some were in amazing shape others looked like a bad municipal course in terms of quality. Unfortunately won't come back due to price/quality of the course.

Course looked like it hadn’t been mowed in weeks. Greens have disease and were in terrible shape. No chance it’s a $50 course. I wouldn’t pay $5 to play here again.

Played this course many, many times. The layout is a typical Appalachian.mountain setup and the course can be fun for seasoned or beginner type golfers. However, this course currently needs some TLC from a maintenance standpoint. Most of the greens are in bad shape with bald spots due to fungus and continue to deteriorate. The fairways are in fair condition but are shaggy on a majority of holes. The bunkers are not maintained. This course gets plenty of play so revenue shouldn't be a problem in addressing these issues. In my opinion, the revenue from fees applicable to green/cart/club rentals/accessories is being directed somewhere else. Despite the aforementioned, the staff is friendly for the most part, the mountain scenery is pleasant, and the food at the 19th hole is good.

This Course is one of the reasons I relocated from Pa.The course used to be gem till the new owner took over.It could be that again if they had the resources and manpower to put into it.If this course wasn’t in close proximity to the tourist traps they would not survive.It’s super overpriced for what it is .Save your money and travel over to Maryville or Tellico and play some courses that are not only beautiful but reasonably priced

Great place for mountain golf. Great bar and grill. Friendly staff.

To start the disappointment off — we arrived about 45 minutes early—-not really sure how far it would take to get there through the winding roads we ended up getting there early— The staff gentleman checking us in thought he was doing us a favor and letting us go 10 minutes early—-so we went to the putting green by the first tee—-we realized then that no one was going off and no one was on the course— instead of telling us that and to go on whenever we wanted he still delayed us for no reason—-

After going off The first nine holes — we realized they were watering the greens ahead of us on hole 10 — we did catch up with the gentleman and explain that no one was behind us if he could wait— he did not and he not only watered the greens they ended up With casual water on every green!!! By whole 16 it was a total mess!!!

Explained at the end of the round to the staff and they did nothing and told us we could call the owner??? Pretty disappointing
